Didn't Bill Clinton move to the center after his re-election?

When you guys stop using "Obumma", "Oblama", ad nauseum, then you'll get respect. Whassamatter? All of the nicknames for Mitt-the-Twit starting to get to you?

Particularly if we take enough Senate seats back to block filibusters; and if the House numbers change...(and I think they will.) I don't know that we'll pick up the 25 seats we need to retake the House, but I think it's more than likely that the GOP is going to lose some of the crazier teabaggers.

Hold that thought to say.....Thanksgiving....and we can replay this. The fiscal cliff is looming large. The sacrificial lamb to avoid a total train wreck may be Social Security or some other equally sacred program.

Can you imagine the audacity?

Not really, just keep having flashbacks to a third grade playground setting.

Good point. No one wants to suggest draconian cutbacks or tax rate increases while running for office, but it may be some tough givebacks on both sides to avoid taxageddon and sequestration....or they will just kick the can down the road.

The GOTP can stop the "draconian cutbacks" any time they wish. We already know who "refuses to bargain", and whose stated purpose is to BLOCK ALL LEGISLATION that attempts to balance the budget with revenue increases as well as cuts.

Does it hurt when you do that? Don't DO that....

That's right. It's your way or the highway right? That's what you call "meeting in the middle" and "being president for the entire nation" right? Compromise to a liberal democrat means doing it all THEIR way. And we wonder why the nation is so divided. Thank God the Republicans gained a majority in the House otherwise we would be on the same path as California....whistling past the fiscal graveyard.

No, Honey-Boo-Boo only wants to be president of 53% of the nation... The other 47% can go screw themselves... And trust me, the 47% that are MAJORLY P.O.'d are going to remember that in the voting booth.

He screwed up with Bain Capital, and his record of offshoring/outsourcing; "I like to fire people"; "My wife drives a couple of Cadillacs"; "I'm not concerned about the very poor...We have a safety net."; the car elevator; MAJORLY with the tax-returns and the offshore bank accounts; one foreign policy gaff after another and the foot so deep in his mouth it's going to have to be surgically removed... Hell, he even screwed up with the dog-on-the-roof...(That won't go away either.)

But he insulted 47% of the nation and told them "[his] job is not to worry about those people."

He's dead-meat, but hasn't got sense enough to lay down and die.
