Full List of Obama Tax Hikes

I've already dealt with the OP. The OP tried to lump excise taxes, and penalties that haven't even taken place yet (and may NOT even take place in future) and some sort of proof of a "broken promise." They don't.

Post all the snark you want. I explained why they don't.

Rave on.

He promised: No new taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.

Someone making less than $250,000 smoked before he raised taxes.

Hence, he raised taxes on someone making less than $250,000.

It's pretty easy logic. Granted, it's an optional tax and in my opinion it's a tax on stupid people, but it still logically follows that short of modifying their behavior, people making under $250,000 are paying more in taxes than they did before Obama did what he did.

I also realize that his promise was probably intended to include only income based taxes, but he didn't say that, did he? For a person in such a public position, you'd think he'd be a little more clear in stating his intentions. (You're welcome for the opportunity to respond by bashing Romney's lack of specifics in his campaign.)

And in the end, I'm still voting for Romney - cuz he's not Obama.

I know what he promised... Excise taxes have nothing to do with what he promised. You don't want to pay the excise tax, don't smoke. That's your choice.

And in the end, I'm not voting for the Social Darwinism Party...

So in the end, you're voting 'against' rather than 'for', just like me - it's just the opposite side of the same coin.

No, actually, I'm voting FOR... I just like using the term "Social Darwinism" in a sentence because it's great description for the pathetic ideas of the Money-Boo-Boo/Lyin'-Ryan Party.

It does have a nice ring to it. It's also misleading and innacurate. That makes it the perfect campagn soundbyte.

That's a damn shame. The Tea Party had some good points starting out before being co-opted by the social conservatives.

It was more than just excise taxes, not that it should matter because Obama promised no raise in any taxes for those under $200/250K.

With more time, I could do a more complete list, here are two more just off the top of my head. He reduced the medical expenses you can deduct from your income taxes by increasing the starting point of the deduction from 7.5% of your income to 10% of your income. That's income tax, not excise tax.

And it's not in effect yet, but the ACA bill which is now law will tax "Cadillac" medical polices big time. That affects many in the middle class, especially union workers.

And to repeat, with time, I could list several more.

I never understood the concept of raising taxes on healthcare, drugs, providers, insurers etc. Colorado added a hospital tax recently as well. Makes no sense to me.
