26th amendment? Do you understand how they make it into the US Constitution? They have to be voted on, by American citizens. US male voters decided women can vote. And each state individually gets to vote on modifying it.
Maybe HuffPo can give you a primer in how this document works?
And slavery was outlawed by voters and state legislatures in the northern part of the nation long before the American Civil War so you can vote on slavery after all.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
And the State of Pennsylvania does not get to put an "undue burden" on selected segments of the population. That is called "unconstitutional", and the court just dealt with it. The citizens of PA don't get to vote to raise the voting age to 21. They don't get to vote on not allowing women, or blacks to vote.
The courts have already determined that the burdens on the elderly, the poor, and other groups that don't have drivers licenses is an "undue burden."
I'm totally not interested in your ALEC-inspired cheap-shots at the affected groups. Obviously the Pennsylvania Courts thought otherwise. You got a problem with that? Send a message to the Koch Brothers, ALEC, and the other Rove-strategy groups.
This is the third (or is it fourth?) state that has had this voter-suppression crap struck down. And the only "voter fraud" that anyone can seem to find is the RNC's own Sproul-infected RNC-registration group.

Sux to be you, doesn't it...
Too bad the Pennsylvania judges can't force disaffected Obama supporters to vote for the empty suit for four more years.

It is just funny with 50% of adults not bothering to vote, the Dems are whining about the 1% without photo ID.
Astounding number without photo ID? Hardly. Are your contemporaries in daycare?
Might just be 1% in some states (although i haven't a clue where you got that number) but it is considerably more in cities with good public transportation. A lot of people - especially the elderly - don't bother and I've seen elderly voters who've lived in this neighborhood most of their lives allowed to vote without ID because the folks working the polls know them.
One more time the judges disregarding the wishes of the American people. Bipartisan groups of Americans think a goverment issued photo ID isn't onerous.
But Democrat judges think their voters are too ignorant and incapable of getting identification so they have to subvert the votes of representatives. BTW, isn't Pennsylvania a blue state?
Disregarding the wishes of which American people? Most people may not object to a government issued photo (I sure don't) but trying to rush a law for it though a couple of months before an election would disenfranchize a large number of people in this state (PA). Yeah, PA is mostly blue but it's considered a swing state. The SW corner I live in is more red than blue.
This, btw, turned off a lot of people
. Stupid, stupid move, to brag that the new ID law would deliver the state for Romney...
... and speaking of ignorant, that's "Democratic judges", not "Democrat judges"...

I have at least three forms of goverment issued photo ID. And have had it from the time I was 15 until now.
Irrelevant.. It's not always "about you."

Looks like the plan didn't work... RMoney is behind 10 points... But I was sure glad to see them advertise their strategy on TV for all to see:

I could have sworn... let me go back and look... yep, this thread is about the PA voter ID law. In the mountains, nearly everyone drives and therefore has a government issued photo ID. That's not the case in many other places. You having a hard time grokking that?
