Wily Fox aka Angela wrote: I think that the truth is coming out and many are seeing the hypocrisy in the current Republican party. it seems the only time they care about you as a human is before you are born. After that, you're on your own

There is a difference between national politics and local politics Angela. From my perspective the only time I want the federal government involved in my personal affairs is when it is in regards to the unalienable rights that were endowed to me when I was created. I prefer to have my individual welfare addressed at the local or State level where my voice is much louder and my government is much more responsive to me as an individual than I would prefer it to be addressed at the federal level where my individual voice is much weaker and the government cannot help but be significantly less responsive given the vast amount of territory and the large number of people that the Union contains.

Just because I don't desire to see individual welfare programs at the national level does not by extension mean that I prefer they not exist at all at any level of government. That is a common fallacy held and perpetrated by those who desire to consolidate all power of governing into a single government instead of the multiple levels of coordinate republican governance provided for in the Constitution and envisioned by our founders and framers.

That 72% is skewed. I have never worked anywhere where I made less than a man. I actually know some women business owners that got much more help than men in their business. I am not sure where that number came from however, I believe part time jobs were involved. I am not saying it doesn't happen but I believe it is just another number pulled out of the air.

Plus women owned businesses get advantages when bidding for jobs.

And in male dominated fields like engineering and finance, women are so rare, companies have to pay them extra to recruit them.

So, many years ago I knew a girl that was accepted at school of mines. She was one of three women accepted that year. Now I beleive School of mines in 30%. What happeened? I told you the story of my daughter being told girls couldn't do math. The school said they are just not as good as boys. The secret is out, women can do anything guys can do and the tide is changing. That 72% is a scare tactic. Women enjoy better conditions than any time in history.

You all feel free to keep posting your personal anecdotal "evidence"... And when you're done, the BLS still has the correct numbers: Women make 23% less than men as a NATIONAL AVERAGE.

But feel free to keep spinning.

I do not believe that. I will say this. There is a discrepancy in CEO's and high level women's jobs I do believe part of that is a old boys network. Part of being a CEO is political. BUt that is even changing. It is a scare tactic.

LJ have you made less than a man? Seriously, any woman that has had this happen to them post it. I want to hear it. I am considered a feminist I would want to know. I was mad as hell at the things that were acceptable when Palin was running. (Don't get me wrong she is a train wreck) But the sexism was awful.
