Once upon a time, people in this country were Americans.
It didn't matter if you were Democrat, or Republican.
We shared a common belief that we as Americans could, would do anything.
Now we are a country of finger pointers, whiners, and liars.
The left says so and so and the right says the same.
I would hope that people would wake up and see that "We The People" are the country and it is up to us to unite it and control it.
Not some puppet in the WH. We do not need government telling The People what they want, how to live.

I will disagree with you. The number of independents continue to rise, 33% in a lot of states. If anything, I think the center is more likely to swing back and forth than ever before. In the old days, generation after generation voted Democrat or Republican, now you get big swings from election to election.
The hard core 60% on both sides? Agree with you here, I think some people here would prefer taking a bullet to voting for the other party, no matter their qualifications.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
The problem lies in the fact that any independent vote is just a vote to make the person feel good.
The winner wins because of $$$ and dirt. No candidate actually stands on the soap box and says what he will do and how he will do it. His press agents touch on what they feel the people want to hear and just give a little "I promise" BS tickler so that they satisfy the party voters.
People no longer understand the constitution and take what a candidate says as the gospel.
They no longer think for themselves but want to be told what to do.
