We will get a glimpse very shortly in the lame duck Congress. Will the House GOP embrace the ideals of Simpson - Bowles and President Obama and work out a budget plan of reduced spending and increased revenues to bring down the deficit or stick to their guns on no increased taxes on the wealthy to force a massive slashing in the defense budget? Boehner has already announced that he will not allow the House to negotiate a compromise solution that would affect the taxes on the wealthy.
