The record debt the US is accumulating. 1.5 trillion dollars a year. Huge amount. Feds are spending 4.5 trillion a year, and only collecting 3 trillion a year. Plus the unfunded liabilities of the entitlement programs. What happens when there is one person working for every person receiving benefits? A 50% tax rate on earners?
Side note, over one billion lottery tickets were bought last week, that only funds the federal goverment for a few hours these days.

Could you compare or contrast these to other large priority items on your list or perhaps even on the list of someone you know has different priorities than yourself? Other things that are even on the govt. agenda that are competing for our leaders' time?
Important stuff doesn't happen in DC. It doesn't happen in a newsroom, boardroom, or a courtroom.
Want to see important? Go watch a maternity ward in a hospital, some time. Go to a wedding chapel. Go to a funeral home.
Visit a church, watch people pray, watch them give thanks for what little they have. Watch the priest encourage them and shepherd them.
Go to a school and watch a kid say their ABCs for the first time. Walk down to your neighborhood cul-du-sac, and watch a kid learn to ride their bike. Watch an 18 year old get notified they're admitted to college.
Pretty sure the American people are wondering who is going to:
1 Be voted off on survivor
2 Get booted on the Voice, X whatever, etc
3 What the hell the kardassin's are doing
and 4 Who will win dancing with the stars.
And while I think the debt is the most important issue, the Left doesn't agree with me.
Obama will only agree to the bandaid of taxing the rich, which will only fund the US for a couple of days, and Krugman thinks we need to open the spigots on spending to jumpstart the economy.
And like above, too many people are only concerned with their next paycheck, or if Honey Boo Boo will win her next pagent.
