1. Speak your opinion and get insulted/belittled... then just sit back and take it like a pinata.

3. Turn into an asshole and make preemptive strikes like the rest of the assholes.
I'm using #3 for a while until Christmas Day ...Oops, I mean Holiday Day.
Let me know how the river works out... I'm takin my buddy ice fishing as soon as possible.

Treat others respectfully: no matter how nasty they write back to you stick to the high road, address the issues only without resorting to personal attacks, feigning outrage or whining about what they wrote, gain respect, and find that people don't treat you nasty back. Worked for me, and that's not because I'm the owner - it's been this way on every board I've posted on from overly moderated to non-moderated. How others treat you is a direct reflection of how you treat them; trolls will be trolls and no amount of attacking, belittling, cajoling, or asking will ever get them to change their ways - if they realize that they can't bother you, they move on to easier pickings - don't be the low hanging fruit.Heisenberg wrote: You only have a few choices if you want to post on this board.

#1 was an abreviated version of what you just said in a paragraph. And choose to know what people are saying just like in real life. The ignore feature is something I choose not to use.Science Chic wrote:

Ahh, gotcha. When I saw "sit back and take it like a pinata" I thought you meant letting yourself continue to get slammed without sticking up for yourself. There's a lot of stuff that I've let slide because it's boiled down to opinion vs opinion, but I hardly think of myself as sitting back and just taking it like a pinata 
- I'll give it back just as hard, I just do it on the issue not with the person. That makes all the difference.
