Arguing over the wrong thing. I am just saying no reason to focus on my sentence I just found it interesting. My sentence was an observation, I was not making a huge statement with it. Focusing on why he had to resign or not and my sentence is ludicris. The guy had to resign okay? If I had more time to kill I would do more research on it to see about all the tradition stuff but my point was there are other mass shootings out there.
I'm sorry you took it as arguing, I was merely making a comment myself and contributing to the discussion - isn't that the point of posting threads on a community forum - to initiate a discussion? The beauty of a community forum is that it's diverse group of people who are going to have a wide range of perspectives and therefore be more likely to disagree, unlike Facebook where it's all your friends who are more likely to agree with you than not.
You started out the thread by saying "I will let you interpret the meaning" not "my point was there are other mass shootings out there" which you finally stated 4 posts later so I was stating my interpretation and trying to convey some knowledge you or others might not have known based on your comment that you found it "weird that they blamed someone other than the shooter and wanted them to resign." You focused on that particular piece of this event, so I thought that's what you wanted to discuss, my apologies if doing so was ludicrous. "They" didn't blame someone other than the shooter, he offered to resign and take the responsibility, most likely due to cultural customs, and to Asians it's not weird. That's all I was trying to point out.
Yes, mass murders happen everywhere and I do not disagree with that; we humans have not evolved enough beyond our base primal urges to be violent.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
I am not going over this again. I just said I "found it weird" that they blamed someone other than the shooter. Still think that statement is accurate so who cares about all that other stuff? I am over it and am done talking about it. As we all know another horrific shooting happened and that is what my whole point of the post was. Discussion about shootings. I still find it weird that the guy had to resign or whatever. I could say more but I am moving on.
