Three Reasons Gun Control Isn't Going To Happen.

In the immediate aftermath of Friday's terrible tragedy in Connecticut, there have been the predictable calls to enact new gun control legislation. The usual proponents of additional restrictions on guns have filled the airwaves with calls for immediate legislative action. Sen. Diane Feinstein has promised to introduce a new "assault weapons" ban on the first day of the new Congress next year. But, there are three very big reasons to believe that, for all the rhetoric, nothing will come of this new push for gun control.

And Obama said himself he cannot ban guns with Executive Order.

Good points, but that may not be enough.

Remember, if someone really wants gun control and the media starts to let this fade, all someone has to do is grab and gun and put the issue back to the top. I am not assuming this is the case, but I am not 100% sure that some of the shootings have not been arranged for this effect. It is not reasonable to assume this is true and it is not reasonable to assume it is not.

So, in the end there are three reasons it won't happen and there are as many reasons that it could as there are guns, clips or bullets that could be used to push the point. I am sure that there is someone so passionate about gun control that they would sacrifice a few or few dozen to get it, perhaps I might feel that way if my kid was shot. Someone in that position might feel they have nothing left to loose.

I don't think we can predict this one because we can't predict the future of violence and we have little to no say over those that are making the decisions, except, of course, all those on here that have given themselves the right to DEMAND things from the govt.

My bet though, they will do gun control, they will stress that phrase and then make restrictions that don't piss off too many people. Everyone will win, they get to say they controlled guns, gun control won't really change and no one is really worried because we all know we are doing this to shut up a few loud mouths so we can get back to issues that effect more than 0.0016% of the population.

You forgot number four: the NRA has most of Congress in its pocket.

I truly hope Flynn is correct. I am SO tired of seeing responsible gun owners getting villified and taking it in the posterior when some nut job who should have been put away years prior does finally snaps and does evil.

What I am starting to worry about? Obama's bureau's will make life a living hell for gun makers, ammo producers and mag builders. EPA, ATF, and others can make it very difficult for a business to operate and make a profit.

I saw the ATF try to take down a firearms company and when they couldn't bust them for the original offense, kept looking until they found something, meanwhile the company went bankrupt from legal costs.

Glorious Leader is going to make life a living hell for a lot of folks. Wonder if he'll consider that firearms manufacturers are one of the few bright spots in the economy these days.

Maybe one of the reasons Cerebrus is selling Freedom Arms and SWHC and RGR are falling in price?

Oh the irony. Two bright spots on the economy, guns and oil.
