Source? Actually you don't know what would have happened if Mitt would have won. But back to the Diverted Fiscal Cliff. Even Dem Senator Bennet doesn't like the deal in the Post today. More kicking the can Deja Vu. We will be having the same crisis late night vote in another couple months.

Oh I agree that the deal sucks, it does nothing more than delay the real decisions.....but there was no doubt that congress would do something at the last minute, none of them wanted to see their investments take a hit. I doubt the new congress will be any better at tackling the real issues, that would be too much work. The entire tax code needs to be revised, how and where we spend our money needs to be addressed, there has to be real work done......and I don't think that will happen in this political climate.

I think there was some progress. "Permanent" setting of the tax rates and permanent fixing the AMT, and expiration of the payroll tax cut. I rather see them stop with this repeated drama over the debt ceiling and just tackle the big problems one at a time- tax reform, entitlements, and also fix the problems in gov't like Fannie Freddie, student loans, and the post office, and a long term sensible defense budget plan.
