POWER GRAB: State GOP Rams Through Jaw-Dropping Redistricting Plan
Virginia Redistricting 2013: State GOP Rams Bill Through Senate In Absence Of Democratic Sen. Henry Marsh

Virginia Democrats are raising hell after Republicans unexpectedly rammed a controversial redistricting bill through the state Senate on Monday, capitalizing on the absence of a Democratic lawmaker and civil rights leader who was in Washington for President Barack Obama's second inauguration.

The Virginia Senate is currently split evenly between Democrats and Republicans, each occupying 20 seats in the legislative body. Democratic State Sen. Harry Marsh's absence paved the way for passage of the previously unannounced legislation by a count of 20 votes to 19.

I would expect nothing less from you.

(Hence my ever-dwindling opinion of teabaggers and right-wingers... Although it's already down at the pond-scum level...I don't know that it can go much lower.)

Dems just upset they didn't think of it first. And it isn't cheating. If the Dems are stupid enough to leave a legal opening, you take advantage of it.

Remember when the Dem legislature in Texas walked out to deny the Republicans a quorom, you didn't call that cheating.

GOP famous for keeping things legal? Versus Dems like Mayor Nagin who was taking kickbacks from Hurricane Katrina suppliers and now under indictment.

Do you REALLY want to go down this path, Fred?... I'm more than happy to do so...But you're really getting tiresome using the same crap over and over again, and then just getting slapped down...

* Randy “Duke” Cunningham – Former Congressman; Sentenced to, and is currently serving an 8 year sentence for graft, fraud, corruption.

* Bob Ney – Former Congressman, sentenced to 30 months for conspiracy, graft, corruption, making false statements to federal law enforcement.

* Tom DeLay – Former Congressman, under indictment for criminal conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws, awaiting trial.

* Sen. Larry Craig, (R-ID) – Senator from Idaho, plead guilty to soliciting sex in a men’s restroom in an airport. (A longtime foe of GLBT rights in Idaho, Craig paid more than $500 in fines and fees related to the misdemeanor charge and was given one year of probation.)

* Rep. Mark Foley, (R-FL) – Former 6-term congressman; resigned after being exposed for soliciting sex with male pages in the Congress; (The uproar ultimate costs House Speaker Dennis Hastert his leadership post.)

* Rick Renzi – GOP Congressman, indicted for extortion, wire-fraud, money laundering, and other charges related to a land deal in Arizona. A 26-page federal indictment unsealed in Arizona accuses Renzi and two former business partners of conspiring to promote the sale of land that buyers could swap for property owned by the federal government. The sale netted one of Renzi's former partners $4.5 million.

* Don Sherwood - Former Congressman of Pennsylvania; charged with violent assault & battery against a woman he had a 5-yr relationship with, (settled out of court for a large sum of money); caught violating the prohibition of "receiving financial benefit from an 'earmark' he appropriated."

* Rep. Vito Fossella (R-NY) – Acknowledged on 5/8/08 that he fathered a child from an extramarital affair from a relationship with Laura Fay, “with whom I have a 3-year-old daughter." Fossella, a Republican, who has three children with his wife in Staten Island, N.Y., was arrested in the suburbs of Washington. Police said his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit. He chose not run for re-election, and was convicted and sentenced to a mandatory five days in jail.

* Rep. Troy King (R-AL) - Notoriously anti-gay Republican Alabama Attorney General Troy King was supposedly caught in his marital bed, by his wife, sexing it up with a young, gay, male assistant!!! While in office, Troy's worked on outlawing homosexuality AND sex toys. Troy has supposedly been banished from his home by his wife. King was a potential GOP frontrunner for Governor in 2010 and an early endorser of presidential hopeful John McCain. We're assuming that the GOP will not be supporting their allegedly gay comrade. It's been speculated that King will be resigning from his AG position soon.

* Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) Sen. David Vitter, who publicly apologized after being linked to an alleged prostitution ring in Washington, was once a client of a high-priced New Orleans brothel, a former madam told a New Orleans television station Tuesday. A woman accused of running a Washington prostitution ring placed five phone calls to David Vitter while he was a House member, including two while roll call votes were under way, according to telephone and congressional records.

* Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) Republican Sen. John Ensign of Nevada admitted, June 16, 2009, he had an extramarital affair with a member of his campaign staff. Ensign told The Associated Press in a statement, "I deeply regret and am very sorry for my actions."

* Congressman Chris Lee (R-NY, 26th District), who is married, allegedly attempted an extramarital affair by responding to personals in the ‘Women Seeking Men’ section of the popular online classifieds website. Lee resigned after Gawker published a shirtless photo the congressman sent to a woman he met through Craigslist.

Or maybe something a little more recent, like the investigation of Nathan Sproul, for voter-registration fraud in SEVEN states...for the GOTP...
