Obama appointments are unconstitutional

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal appeals court has ruled that President Barack Obama violated the Constitution when he bypassed the Senate to fill vacancies on a labor relations panel.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit says Obama did not have the power to make recess appointments earlier this year to the National Labor Relations Board.

Interesting. Finally a small line drawn in the sand in regards to Presidential powers.

If this stands, the Republicans have effectively strayed democracy in America. If the opposing party holds just one chamber of Congress they can prevent the other party from doing anything at all. Ever. Now that the Republicans have a party platform of no compromise, it's their way or the highway. Even when the majority of Americans disagree with their policies. Way to run a coup, boys. Got any banana plantations?

No, it's about the Republicans blocking the Democrats by abusing procedures for the sole purpose of preventing President Obama from accomplishing anything. If they would operate as fair brokers we could see what this President would do. Instead we get to see the Republicans acting like a gang of bullies playing "keep away" with the will of the people.

Is this the new VL?

It is called checks and balances. Read up on it. If the President nominated acceptable choices, they would be approved. Maybe a 60% Dem, 40% GOP split.

Nope. Just look at how the Republicans treated Susan Rice. Whatever she had done would have been wrong. Had she deviated from the CIAs talking points you righties would have slammed here for betraying national security. Hey, I'm giving you a compliment. Your tactics of cheating to gum up the works is brilliant. It makes Democrats look incompetent. Obama is a great disappointment to us liberals because all he does is compromise and try to meet you guys in the middle. Everytime he does, he moves us further to the right.

There is a remedy. Win back Congress in 2014. Every seat in Congress is up for the Democrats to win.

It would be an interesting 2 terms for Obama this way, Dems would have the House and Senate at the beginning and end of his stay in office.

4 years under a Dem Congress and 4 years under a GOP Congress.
