Medicare improperly paid $120M to illegal immigrants, inmates

President Obama told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on Friday that immigration reform would be one of his top priorities. His comments coincide with a new report by Health and Human Services, which concludes that illegal immigrants and prison inmates have received more than $120 million in Medicare services from 2009-2011, even though they are ineligible for the program.

Nearly 3,000 illegal immigrants made $91.6 million in fraudulent claims for Medicare services over the report’s three-year duration,

What guys? Our inept government or illegals benefitting from the labor of US citizens?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Shouldn't the government be watching both?

Yes, I've heard of this "Medicare Fraud"....

Rick Scott, Gov. of Florida:

In late 2002, HCA agreed to pay the U.S. government $631 million, plus interest, and pay $17.5 million to state Medicaid agencies, in addition to $250 million paid up to that point to resolve outstanding Medicare expense claims.[24] In all, civil law suits cost HCA more than $2 billion to settle, by far the largest fraud settlement in US history.[25]

Wow... $2 BILLION... By the Governor of Florida... Kind of puts $120 Million in perspective doesn't it?

(There's your "They did it too" for the day...) Where was your outrage then? Why wasn't HCA and Scott "watched" by da gubm't then?

Is that your only argument anymore or do you have an independent opinion on what is wrong and what to do about it?

Do you ever have anything but deflection when someone points out that what you are bitching about was perfectly fine as long as a TeaBagger did it?

QUICK!! Scamper back to Bob's Place before you actually have to confront anything! It's "safe" there...

So LJ ignores the OP and then diverts from it by bringing up something that happened in the 1990's and then cuts and pastes to throw in Rick Scott's name even though he was never charged with anything. Classic LJ! :sunrain:
