[sarcasm]I dunno, I kind of enjoy playing Indian Poker while wearing a blindfold. Put your finger on your computer monitor a "feel" the icon that represents the bill then cast a vote. What could possibly go wrong?[/sarcasm]

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I'm afraid only a few politicians actually read the bills anymore. With hundreds of pages of legal gibberish, how can you make much sense of them? You have to trust your low paid interns/advisors and party leaders (who also trust their low paid interns), I guess.

Again, the lawyers win! :happier:

Libby Szabo put forward a bill in the Colorado legislature this month to write new laws in common language, it was voted down. Let us continue to make it harder for citizens to understand new legislation.

It is almost like trying to read Latin sometimes.

Maybe they're afraid that if the citizenry understands the legislation the legislators could be facing torches and pitchforks.
