WOW. Interesting perspectives. I don't much care what the details are (caveats in a bag). Legal, illegal the point (IMO) is that he did not pay for it. WOW, another politician selling influence for favors. Is anyone shocked? Why not?
I don't know if he paid for the prostitutes with his own cash or not. But if there were political favors in exchange for the "services" recieved, obviously that's not acceptable and probably illegal.
From the article, the eye doctor had all kinds of tax issues, including issues with the IRS. Can a senator do much about that? Don't know, but I'd be very surprised if he could. Obviously Menendez couldn't do much about stopping the FBI investigation that's going on.
I like the usual denial from Harry Reid who won't say anything about the specific charges and can only say to "consider the source". That hasn't worked out so well in the past (Bill Clinton, Wiener anyone?). Now the Miami Herald is involved.
Looks like a cesspool, but we'll see what happens in the legal system.

I would be amazed if he couldn't. you are way smarter than I am but I think you are lacking a common sense gene. ("Hello senator this is the IRS enforcement division, You were wondering about who? Look at how long Rangel skated and then he got what? :rofllol
)The FBI seized files? OH WOW, I thought you had to have a freezer full of cash to get noticed. Menendez is not the only one he bought.
How long has he been living the high life. How much does he owe in taxes? Do you think you would be walking around with his history?
As I said, it looks like a cesspool. We'll see what becomes of it.
I really don't know what politicians can do about certain problems their donors might be worried about. Sure, they can name a street or something. But can they really influence what the IRS does?
OK, they can make changes with tax laws they later pass and modify tax law that way. But that is a very slow process and I don't see how that helps someone already with big tax problems.
But let's ignore this. As Harry Reid says, "consider the source". lol

Am I the only one who finds the timing of this suspicious? Just as Menendez is set to take over John Kerry's spot on the Foreign Relations Committee? And it started with a very conservative blog.
Now Bob's people are saying he did pay for his sex tourism, er, I mean junkets, er, I mean, fact finding trips....looks like Senator Menendez found more than facts.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

It's actually not a recent story. It goes back to at least Oct 31st...
