The old world shopping bags were net like in design. I wonder if that cut down on transfering "bugs" and also made them easier to wash. Europe should have more data on this since they have decades of use of these bags.

I do not eat meat, so that is not a concern in my personal case.

I would expect information from the CDC if this was truly a danger. They do a much better job collecting and analyzing such data than a couple of professors in a law review journal.
