Hey Grady, a question for ya: how do you know she wasn't going to a kids party or had some other reason for wearing this outfit that was randomly chosen to be used to call her ghetto? Is this outfit really ghetto, or just bad fashion to us older folks?

For me, it's not what you wear that makes you classy, it's how you conduct yourself. And I think she's done a fine job of conducting herself with dignity, grace, and poise.

But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

I can dig out (google) the picture of her walking down the steps of AF One in front dignitaries looking like she just got in from working in the back yard, or the hundreds of pictures or her many unflattering poses. I did not caption the picture I just grabbed it. I do however believe Michelle is the least classiest first lady we have had in the Whitehouse in generations. For anybody to say

Yeah!... She's got more class in her little finger than Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, and Anne RMoney put together....

is just not true. She is smart, driven, and well spoken. but with as much class as Honey Boo Boo's mom.
With the exception of Michelle, we have been lucky to have First Ladies who have shown class and respect for the position they held.

Hmm, I'm surprised (I knew you didn't caption the image, but it's one of those things that can again be easily taken out of context which was why I asked about it).

So is it just her manner of dress that doesn't make her classy, or her behavior as well? What has she done that indicates to you that she isn't classy? As you say, she is smart, driven, and well-spoken. I haven't seen her do or say anything that has reduced the respect of the position that she holds, she's raised two fine daughters as well as I can tell, and has an admirable history in school and career, so I'm imminently curious, if you'd care to share.

Edit to add: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Obama
I think she's done admirably holding her family together and supporting her husband's career as well. JMO

Grady,. your comments and obvious hate for the First Lady opens the door for for any judgement of your motivation... take that as you will, but I see things in your comments that are more than just 'ghetto' and 'as much class as Honey Boo Boo's mom', and frankly are pretty damn ugly.... but I guess that is just the right wing's view...

like these from some of the classy RW sites out there:

At Fox Nation:

At least Moochell is crashing the oscars now… Probably not as much fun as crashing through the forest and terrorizing tent campers.

the First Wookie is with out a doubt and embarrassment to the nation, she has never held a real job, earned a dime herself or cares about this country, do not be surprised when George and Weezy are out of the White House she drops Barack quickly and gets her a NBA star.

The Obamas are like ill-bred ghettø kids who just won the lottery. Spendthrift, vulgar, irresponsible, and utterly filled with arrogant delusions of their own self-importance.

Disgusting.

Ugh. I would sooner French kiss an Óràngután.

Good for Michelle. This is the least masculine she’s looked in years, and that mop of a haircut really makes her aboriginal good looks shine. Lucky, lucky Barry.

this racist is sickening. she has no problem spending tax payers money. thank you skin, food stamp voters for the no class Whitehouse.

I think Michelle has no intention of being an ex-monarch. This is all about her running for Senate and then president. After all, the transformation to socialism is not yet complete! Women like her and Hillary cannot stand to have their husbands accomplish more than they do.

At least we understand when as a whole how a group of people think.... you come upon it honestly from the sites a person goes to.... ugly is as ugly does. Hatred exists... left and right, just it's a whole lot more prevalent on the right.

I don't see that he hates her, as he did say that he thought her well-spoken, smart, and driven and he certainly didn't stoop to the level of those other comments. Yes, people can get ugly, on both sides. The great thing is, the majority of us don't believe that crap, and don't perpetuate it.

I know Grady personally, he's an intelligent, well-thought, reasonable guy who does not just follow the conservative mind-think blindly. I admit that I am surprised that he thinks the First Lady is as classy as Honey Boo Boo's mom, which was why I politely asked for clarification if he wishes to provide it. I refuse to stereotype him in with the cretins, ignoramuses, and trolls out there because he's definitely not one of those.

Agreed SC... that is why I said one could come up with an opinion of Grady that did not fit. But the comparison to HBB's mom I think was way out of line. Michele HAS shown class and fortitude and has done this country proud, no matter what you might think of her husband's policies. I probably should not have posted the rest in this thread but to be honest I felt that hate needed to be exposed, it's ugly and if it was about a R FLOTUS by lefties, you bet I'd rapidly condemn it as I have when I have heard thing said about Laura Bush or Barbara Bush.

Grady, I know you are not in that same group and I hope you accept that I don't see you that way.....

Being a first lady is a difficult job, one that I think all of our recent ladies have handled admirably. Saying hateful things about them because you don't agree with their husbands politics is just nasty and mean spirited.

True, it's very easy to take one sentence that someone writes and use it to assume more about them than is true. Thanks for the clarification netdude! I wouldn't call the comparison to HBB's mom out of line myself, just curious as to why he thinks that and am glad that we have forums like this to discuss it!

I think that anyone who even knows who Honey Boo Boo is probably has no class.

nd, there are treasure troves of remarks on both sides that reflect hate, ignorance and any thing else you set out to find. I believe it is a mistake to believe it is reflective of ether side.
