Nothing in the Denver Post article NOR the email thread names any names of Democrat lawmakers who made these "threats." So far, what we have here is a number of claims passing between the sheriff and Chris Olson discussing the "threats" but we don't have any idea of the source of the "threats" on the Democrat side. These emails do not prove anything except hearsay coming from the sheriff's department and the CSOC.

And there is no legislation being proposed to raise the salary of county sheriffs beyond their current $111,000 salary.

...but it doesn't change the facts. Dems resort to things like extortion in order to win. Obama's sequestration, for example. And man oh man does he own it. Now, we all know he lied about owning it and then he finally manned up and owned it...so it also proves my point that Dems also lie. So based on just our Fearless Leader's actions over the last few weeks, and we know about the "trickle down effect" (or for Dems is it chills that trickle down???) then it certainly gives thinking people a reason to pause and wonder if the Colorado Dems might lie and extort too?

So even the County Sheriffs of Colorado agree that Makeeta is a total idiot.

On a Saturday morning conservative radio show, Maketa said that Senate Democrats had threatened sheriffs' pay because sheriffs don't support gun control legislation. He called it bordering on extortion.

Maketa based the claims on an email he received from Chris Olson, the executive director of the County Sheriffs of Colorado. But now Olson tells TARGET 13 that he never felt threatened by anyone at the capitol.

"There were no threats that were ever intended in that email," said Olson, who has said that Maketa is "on his own" with the claims.
