Hey IB, when you post anything worth my time to comment upon, I'll think about it. I don't have a problem with what you post...... You have the right here to post what you want, I use your posts to increase my knowledge base of how conservatives think and act.

This makes YOU look very small and very ignorant archer... sorry, but it's true. You find the most radical right wing poster and proclaim with your famous mind reading powers that we all think the same... how mature of you.
Given that "logic", I should say that all liberals think and act like LJ because she has the loudest nastiest voice and NONE of you on the left EVER attempts to shut her down. This is how racism works as well. I have someone from a different race steal from me and I say "well, I guess every (pick your race) is a POS thief!".
Not sure what kind of point you're trying to make, but I don't think you realize how foolish it makes you look.
I'm guessing I'm now ignore or you don't have a good comback here. Seriously archer, I'll bet you are a very sweet and caring person outside this board, even if I disagree with your ideology. It's obvious to me that you really do think all conservatives think alike which is just insane and has ZERO basis in fact. In fact, here's proof that you and I agree on most everything unless you've "evolved" like Obama.

I am also a fiscal conservative and a social liberal TO A POINT. The point where my social liberalism ends is in the killing of innocent human life. I have no problem with anyone marrying anyone they want, in fact they can marry several people at the same time for all I care. I think drugs should be legal and people should be able to end their own miserable lives as long as it is only their life. I want to see a woman as president as long as that woman is qualified and understands how to keep this country strong. I also want to see more immigrants come into this country as long as they bring something to the table and at the very least, sign the guest book on their way in.
Now since you think all conservatives think like I'm Back, what does that say about me, or about you for that matter since you are a fiscal conservative yourself?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I'm sorry Rick that you can't (won't) see the purpose in my thread, I thought I made it pretty clear. I posted what I did to highlight what has been going on here on the board for many months, and I have tried to highlight where we are vs where this board used to be. I recognize it is a losing battle, but I'm a sucker for lost causes and I don't back off just because I know I can't change the status quo......
The LJ derangement syndrome has been hanging over this board for more than a year.....and from it came the "we're going to shame liberals into behaving how we want them to behave" posts. I'm sick to death of it, and yes, it probably will cause me to leave the board at some point, I surely have backed off the number of posts I make. I'm sure many of you probably think that is a good thing, and that's OK.....
When liberals are held to a different standard than conservatives, NOT by the board owner, SC has been more than fair and even handed, but by a faction of conservative posters, I can't sit by and condone or approve.
Thanks archer, I appreciate the clarification (before I got to your last post, when you kept saying conservatives were moderating liberals, I was confused as hell). As you know, it's my priority that this message board is a place equal and free for everyone, and that people are not moderated based on who they are, but rather on what is posted as to where it belongs because we have forum topics for everything. It's a matter of integrity and pride that we hold ourselves to the highest standard in that regard. To continue, I'd like to state that this post is meant for everyone, not directed at archer specifically.
It's human nature to hold those we agree with to a different standard than those with whom we don't agree. In my time participating on message boards, I've learned to never personally pay much heed to people smacking others down for how they post/their tone/etc - as I've posted about before, calling people out on their posts is not an effective method to improve people's behavior. I will make a comment here and there addressing that, but to focus on that every day/week/month is an exercise in frustration and futility. It's like asking someone to stop smoking because it'll kill them - they already know that, and they may even half-heartedly want to, but they'll change only when they care enough to do so themselves (either through a personal health scare, or an external factor like a loved one dying of cancer that hits them emotionally - changes in behavior almost always take an emotional trigger/motivation, rarely rational ones). All you can do is not enable them, and be ready to accept their choice and help them when they are. How we can help to not enable online behavior is as chickaree said, don't reward them with a response, or if you feel you must, the two most effective methods are asking questions and killing 'em with kindness. Chastising, berating, and condemning only feed the problem. Try it if you don't believe me.
Until then, who cares what the other side says about how you post? If you are addressing the content and not making it personal (and keep in mind that general insults about a group to which someone identifies with will be taken as personal insults and cause your position to be outright rejected because of the visceral, primitive emotional response), and are happy with the points you've made, then I say go with it! Ask them why they don't like what you posted, you might be surprised at the answer - maybe it'll be something you didn't expect about how your words were taken and make you think twice abut the words you are choosing, or maybe they're full of shit and you can inwardly smile, either way, it's an improvement wouldn't you say? (reminder: I'm speaking generally by the way, this post isn't totally directed at archer). Does that make sense? Sorry, my mind's preoccupied with several urgent deadlines and I'm not as coherent as I usually wish to be.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

And that is all I'm going to say about that.
Apples and oranges archer. What you fail to see is that nobody (as far as I can remember) has made a blanket statement inferring that all liberals think and act like LJ. You liberals are just as diverse in your individual beliefs as we conservatives... am I wrong? Or do you really think we think all the same? There's an endless list of your past statements that go like this "you conservatives are, think, believe...blah blah" . Just do a search in your posts using the word conservatives. I won't bother listing the many examples unless you disagree.
Even if you vehemently disagree with me or any other non-liberal, I deserve to be judged by MY OWN words and deeds BUT, not those of someone else like I'm Back. Now if I chime in to one of his rants and agree with a specific point, then it's fair for you to judge me on that specific issue. You may be surprised at how many things you and I actually agree on... like you once said, you are a fiscal conservative... so why is my fiscal conservatism so much different than yours?
You said you're done with this topic, so be it... I just hope you realize that, at best, you personally know .00001% of all conservatives in this country. Not exactly a good sample size to make your original statement. :peace:
