NPR's Series On Social Security Disability

They have been running the series all week. Pretty crazy high numbers. Some counties have 25% of the population on disability and tomorrow will discuss the law firms that help people get on disability. WWW.Npr.org.

But no surprise......heard on a mass media boob newscast that head start for toddlers was being cut.....toddlers ? These programs always grow well beyond what was intended by the Congress.......sloppy wording in the law permits massive abuse. I would not be surprized if babys in cribs are getting head start schooling....... : )).

I would not be surprised to see the AynRandroid TeaPublican Pukes want to see children and seniors starve rather than have ONE person get a benefit they might not deserve.

Are children and seniors, enough?...Or will you not be satisfied until the parents are hungry and homeless too, as well as the disabled, elderly, veterans and active-duty military, and retirees? I think I got up and left the rest of the lecture that day on "Teabagger screwing of the 47% for fun and PROFIT."

Always deal in absolutes? How about clean up some of the fraud in the system? My wife's workman comp insurance company is always catching fakers water-skiing and working under the table, defrauding other policyholders. If even NPR thinks this fraud is a story, especially with the legal firms who are making big money, it needs to be corrected.

So are you saying that rules shouldn't apply to this situation? By that logic anyone who asks for handouts should get whatever they ask for, actually qualifying for the benefits isn't an issue. Case in point? Obamacare, you don't need to be a citizen to receive benefits. How about food stamps? Record numbers of people in the country are receiving them, no matter their status as citizens or illegal aliens. The FDA has even gone so far as to take on ad campaigns promoting food stamps in Mexico.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Would making an effort to reduce fraud be that bad? Oh, right, we're playing the 'take your point to excess to make yourself look stupid game'... What the hell, why don't we just declare everyone disabled, and ride this economy into the ground - the next generation can build their own, right?

Welfare has been replaced with disability. Welfare came from the states so they don't mind it ending or being limited and those people moved to the Social Security rolls.
