What's wrong with wanting to be equal, honoring women's bodies and choices, being more in touch with your own body and emotions as a path toward enlightenment, and wanting to end sex trafficking and war? The sex trafficking part is huge to me - there are over 2 million kids trafficked EVERY YEAR, 300,000 here in the US alone, it is the fastest growing illegal activity, faster than gun sales and drug trafficking, law enforcement as we've even witnessed firsthand with
Raven Cassidy Furlong's case
is woefully inadequate - they refuse to acknowledge trafficking and assign kids to "runaway" status until the evidence becomes overwhelming and then they don't even try in most cases b/c they have no where to put the rescued kids (except half way houses or juv. detention - with other criminals, when these kids aren't criminals) and the kids end up right back in prostitution b/c their needs are not met so they leave again and end up on the streets, vulnerable to those who prey on them, and it's the most horrific thing a child can possibly subjected to - ANYONE who brings awareness to that effort and condemns it is not a "girly man" but an honorable, moral, strong man in my book.
Frankly, us women could make a video apologizing for all the stupid crap we do and it would be another great step forward.
So what exactly are you afraid of Im baaaack that you find the need to denigrate and demean these men for their attempts to make life better for everyone?
Again, I will point out that I said that this is over the top - do I think that someone should apologize on behalf of some larger group of which he is a part? No, people can only take responsibility for themselves and their own actions, the rest is just symbolic and meaningless words in the end. What I find intriguing is how all of you focused on that aspect of the video, rather than what I pointed out that wouldn't it be nice if the values that they celebrated - equality, acceptance, love, honoring others, finding joy and beauty in life, decrying abuse, pain, and suffering - were what we all strived for?
Im baaaack, contempt for others finds its roots in fear. You judge these men, and call them names, yet know nothing of their lives. You know little of me, much of it assumptions on your part, yet you stoop to personal insults. It speaks much about you, your integrity, and your character.

"Contempt is the weapon of the weak and a defense against one's own despised and unwanted feelings." ~Alice Miller
"If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us." ~Hermann Hesse
"I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain." ~James Baldwin
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
SC...In your first post you said "Frankly, us women could make a video apologizing for all the stupid crap we do and it would be another great step forward." Then in your second post you say "do I think that someone should apologize on behalf of some larger group of which he is a part? No, people can only take responsibility for themselves and their own actions, the rest is just symbolic and meaningless words in the end." So which is it?
The you ask "the values that they celebrated - equality, acceptance, love, honoring others, finding joy and beauty in life, decrying abuse, pain, and suffering - were what we all strived for? " SC...it's not the "values" I'm mocking...it's purely the effeminate delivery and their "collective responsibility" that repulsed me!! Hahahahaaa
Next, you condemn me for judging these guys. You're right! I do! I make judgement calls every day, all day long! Based on the quotes regarding hate, fear and contempt, and the fact that they were meant to define me, it's obvious you do a little judging yourself. It's just too bad you can't appreciate my fine sense of humor.
Like they say...what's good for the goose is good for the gander so I'll toss this right back atcha....
"You know little of me, much of it assumptions on your part, yet you stoop to personal insults. It speaks much about you, your integrity, and your character." Couldn't have said it better myself.
