Which, of course, has NOTHING to do with the measures that were passed...

However, you are correct--I WOULD take out the intruder with a handgun.

Only for now would you take out the intruder.

You do know that they gun you own is only further down the list of guns that will eventually be banned, it is actually a much broader list, it included everything one could own or do and we are just working our way down it. You are pushing us down faster.

Go ahead and deny the concept, but it matters because it is a slippery slope, just like starting a war after 9-11, it just won't end and will only get worse in the long run.

The day we start debating bills to limit the ownership of cars--or trains--I'll worry about it...

THIS debate, (now finally successful in FOUR States: New York, Colorado, Connecticut and Maryland) is about background checks to prevent people from having guns that shouldn't have them; to limit the number of rounds in magazines (where possible), and all of the other reasonable restrictions and gun-control laws that we can get.

You want to talk about cars and trains?... Go start your own thread. I'm not interested in your tiresome deflections, and repetitions of your NRA-supplied talking points.

I know nothing of the sort...And frankly, the "slippery slope", "they're coming to take your guns" bullsh*t is getting tiresome. Why don't you go worry about the fluoride in the water-supply. That'll take your mind off of "da gub'mnt comin' fer yer guns"....

Liberals are so stupid. (And some liberals are full of hate.)

911 is the answer... according to Diana DeGette... “The good news for you, you live in Denver. The Denver PD would be there within minutes. (laughing) You’d probably be dead anyway.” [/b][/i]

Can you list the names of the people that died on the day of Newtown in car accidents, how about the names of the people that died in this country due to auto/train accidents on that day. You know trains, that always have gates, things that are more effective than unenforceable laws and yet not 2 hours goes by without a car and a train meeting in this country, not 2 hours. Approximately 120 people died in car to car or car to people accidents the day your smaller group of first class citizens were killed in a random event. One Hundred and Twenty. Would you like to look at the data since then about guns, I think you have posted about that too, but compared to bad drivers and their cars (and countless other risks that are more easy to control), guns kill zero and those that shoot them kill few.

Someone called me yesterday on one of my 800 lines. Wrong number, but he starting going off (I attract the crazies because I am willing to listen) and he went off on iondine and florine and then his biggest topical rant....his fellow democrats that no matter what happens, they will not think about issues or debate them. He made it clear he was gay and a democrat, guy from Tenn, but told me his life story. I wished I remembered the word he used for them, it was not good, but I liked that "Democrats" had made up such a word. He was essentially describing you, someone who cannot falter in her support of the red socks, even if they go down and gang rape a local nursery school. And certainly after it happens, will not even acknowledge that the elementary school even existed and will mention something about a hot watery beverage because they cannot muster up a debate. The word was so good. But in the end I only had one statement. Either you are a democrat or they are, but not both of you. When you disagree with someone on most issues, they are not in the same group. A bunch of Canadians getting together and playing for the Bruins are not a New England team, even if the sports nuts would kill a fan of another team over a lost game. He kept going on and on and eventually I had to plead with him to not make me hang up on him....because I had to go train an employee for a job I had managed to create by increasing sales in my business despite your constant attempts to regulate away business in place of universal govt employment with the money coming from lalaland (or govt prison slave mines or something).

All you have to do to understand this thread is read the HuffPost one day. Lot of good info in there, but the Article titles are more misleading than any other I have seen. Something tells me you read this website, so you may understand. Drudge does it to, but Huffpost has be going back and wondering if I clicked the right article about 1/2 times.

Again, why are the lives of those that are shot with guns more valuable than others? If you are going to deny this is not public policy or your own push, on what basis would you deny such a thing given you and the govt focus screams this? Why not focus on the long list of things we could do to avoid deaths with far less effort than these ineffective random state gun laws in states with open boarders (essentially taking the effort we are making as saving MORE lives). I fear the end result of the feel gooders is that we will have closed boarders, you just wait and reread this post the first time you go through a state to state checkpoint that is not in CA (the only state where I have gone through such a thing, a number of times). State gun or drug laws do not work without closed boarders. I guess in reality with this and other things, why you are so willing to make second class citizens via regulation - in your world the guy killed by another means is second class to the person shot with a gun. What's next, beating gays or wait, your style would be to mandate that everyone beat gays? I thought we regulate to avoid this not to create it.

Awesome post, well stated. Definitely rate you up there with PrintSmith  :like: :yeahthat:
