Several years ago I served on a child molest case. It was almost a 2 week process. The accused was a former boyfriend of the mother, it was a pretty sad case the little girl testified, but only to identify the guy and to describe the location where he took her. The girl's mother was nowhere to be found and was never in court.
On the day I figured we were going to go into deliberations I wore a tie just to make a little more professional appearance. When we went into the jury room I took the seat at the head of the table, I wanted to be elected the jury foreman. I wanted to drive the deliberations, I wanted to make sure the guy went to prison for a very long time. It took a couple of days but we eventually found him guilty on numerous charges. One member of the jury was very anti police and she discounted everything anybody in uniform testified about. It took a while to convince her that not all cops were out to get people. I feel I did right by society.
