I agree there is a control problem here but not necessarily due to bad intent - I think it's the same way a parent wants to protect a child. Politicians seem to think they have all the answers and if they think something is good for us, it's more important to fix a problem than it is to be transparent about the methods - even if those methods invade privacy. What worries me is the fact that the president doesn't seem to know what's going on around him in many cases until he sees it in the news. That's when you know government has gotten to big and out of control. If government agencies start heading in their own chosen directions without leadership from the top, it won't end well for us.OmniScience wrote: How many times have I said it on this board?
IT'S ALL ABOUT CONTROL........... (Ted Flynn was right)
As sure as night follows day........Big government = big problems. Huge over-reaches in the name of safety and security have brought an end to individual privacy.

Instead of trying to "close that Pandora's box," I think I'll spend the rest of my days listening to Pandora.

But the other problem is that it's going to get harder for people in government to come forward as whistle blowers for fear of losing their job or worse being prosecuted. I'll bet there are many people who want to speak up but don't want to lose everything they worked for including their freedom.homeagain wrote:

Oooo... "Hitler" and "Stalin" in the same sentence!... That's a DOUBLE-WORD SCORE!!!
They weren't "unconstitutional"... They were approved by CONGRESS--(after THIRTEEN (13) BRIEFINGS), and approved by FISA Courts and FEDERAL JUDGES... But rave on...
I hate to see a good teabagger rant go to waste....
