Interesting....we were just discussing today how the GOP has effectively brainwashed so many of the 99% that they will continually vote Republican even though it is NOT in their best interest to do so......same with some women, though Republicans did lose support of many women this last election, it still amazes me that so many still will vote Republican. The Tea Party especially......back in their glory days they convinced many many voters that they were all about fiscal responsibility and economic recovery......and there are still so many voters that swallowed the line, were effectively brainwashed,.....yet the Tea Party has proven to be so much more......now it's all about their social agenda....abortion, gay rights (or the lack there of), gun rights, anti immigration reform......but still the voters think the Tea Party stands for economic issues......brain washing works, all the evidence points to the Tea Party taking this country in reverse socially, and still people support them. Boggles the mind.

Archer, if you remember how the Tea Party started, it wasn't about social issues at all... and it still isn't other than the right wing social conservatives that wanted to ride the tea party wave. The core of the tea party is about fiscal responsibility, fair taxation, and abiding by the constitution. Just like in the Democratic party, there are politicians on the radical edges that are used by the other side to paint the whole party or movement. Just like liberals, not all conservatives are the same no matter how many times the left wants it to be so.

Well shucks rick....isn't that what I said? That in the beginning the Tea Party was all about economic issues/fiscal responsibility? Now.....not so much, or did you sleep through the last election where many of the Tea Party candidates got bogged down in the mud of social issues?????

The point is archer, that people who are on the side of the Tea Party are no different than people who side with the Democrats... they are ALL DIFFERENT. They are not sheep that all think exactly alike... some may be more socially conservative, and others are not. What unites them all is the desire to reign in an ever expanding and unaccountable government that uses tax dollars to feed that expansion.

But it's just so easy and fun to call them extremist teabaggers and racist nuckledraggers, reguardless of the facts.

Take your outrage to someone else rick.....I didn't call them that. It's just so easy and fun to blame all liberals for what you didn't like that was posted by one liberal.

Not outraged archer, just pointing out accurate observations and reminding people who lump others into the same box that they are always wrong... always.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

"How Crazy Are Democrats? This Crazy
Scott Rasmussen, in a survey of 1,000 likely voters, reports findings that shed considerable light on the mentality of Barack Obama supporters. Rasmussen asked this question:

Which is a bigger terrorist threat to the United States today – radical Muslims, the Tea Party, local militia groups, the Occupy Wall Street movement, or other religious or political extremists?

Now, there is only one sane answer to that question. No Tea Party group has ever been implicated in a terrorist attack or even, as far as I can recall, an isolated act of violence. Attenders of Tea Party events are notorious for cleaning up after themselves like Boy Scouts. But this survey suggests that partisan Democrats are living in a parallel universe:

[A]mong those who approve of the president’s job performance, just 29% see radical Muslims as the bigger threat. Twenty-six percent (26%) say it’s the Tea Party that concerns them most. Among those who Strongly Approve of the president, more fear the Tea Party than radical Muslims."...

I'm pleased to see that at least some of our citizens recognize that our democracy will not fall because of outside forces but will be destroyed from within, by people calling themselves "patriots" with an agenda of tearing down what this great nation has built. Some think that the Tea Party is just such a group. I don't think all Tea Party groups have that in mind, But I sure have read enough from some of the Tea Party groups, and those they support for higher office, that lends credence to that idea.
