But you go ahead and blame it on gov't.......It's never the corporation's fault with you corporate apologists......

But corporations are people too. Do you think that the greedy evil selfish monsters that run corporations are of a different gene pool than politicians?

no, and of same gene pool of some here. Greed and disregard for others is nothing new.

Why must you see those who do not agree with you in an evil light? Are we not all seekers here?
Does anyone not want to live in paradise? Could it be a flaw in your world view? Will ten thousand more rules drive costs down to market prices?

A little hyperbole so early in the morning? No, I do not see everyone who disagrees with me in an evil light. Tell me Bob, How do you see those who disagree with you? what exactly are you seeking? It seems to me that what you seek is not knowledge but reinforcement for your own ideas and anyone who disagrees is just ignorant. Now that is just my opinion, as I assume your assessment of me is your opinion. Are we really so different?

No, we are not so different. That is why I do not understand how you can see the symptoms as illustrated in your OP and think it is caused by greedy bastards who own medical supply co.'s rather than the system that promotes it.

Such an interesting topic now that I work in the healthcare supply chain field and before this, R&D in both large and small pharmaceutical companies.

And I am surprised you would give the suppliers a pass and blame the
victims of this scam.

Caveat Emptor?
And it really sucks when it is ACA, voted for and passed. (Rammed down our throats before we could even see what it was.)

Could you ask Medicare or whoever if you could source your own, buy it, and ask to get reimbursed? I'm pretty stupid when it comes to insurance and/or Medicare.

I do know though that when I was moving from Arkansas to Turkey at government expense, they told me that because there wasn't a port to ship my vehicle in Arkansas, I could pick one and they would reimurse me for mileage from Arkansas to the port of choice...I chose Auburn Washington and drove there. Then they told me that I could either make my own arrangements to get to my port of call at JFK or I could let the gov't make them. They gave me a cost and if I went over it, I paid the difference. If my cost was below that, they paid what it was. It worked out in my favor for me to make the arrangements through a local travel company instead of letting TMO do it.

Don't know if Medicare allows this...

So what do you think? Are profits excessive? Any idea how much paperwork it takes to get a walker from medicare?

I did buy one off Amazon, my cost was $20 less than if I had gotten the one ordered by physical therapy through Medicare. I dont plant to put in a claim to medicare.... I saved 20 bucks and medicare saved even more.

The paperwork wasn't much Bob..... One page form, filled out by a therapist, signed by a doc, faxed to the supplier.... One call by them to medicare and our supplement ins... Then a call to me for approval and 85 bucks. All done in acouple hours.
