Reid finally admits the obvious about Obamacare

Simple...

A new survey of 2,500 federal employees and retirees found that 92.3 percent believe federal workers should keep their current health insurance and not be forced into ObamaCare. Only 2.9 percent say they should become part of the new health insurance exchanges.

That says it all for me.

Louie Gohmert Health Care Claims Fail Fact Check

The following post first appeared on FactCheck.org .

Rep. Louie Gohmert is wrong when he says a “poor guy out there making $14,000″ is “going to pay extra income tax if he cannot afford to pay the several thousand dollars for an Obamacare policy.” In fact, that “poor guy” will be eligible for Medicaid coverage or heavily subsidized private insurance, depending on where he lives, without fear of being penalized if he cannot afford insurance.

Under the new law, an individual earning $14,000, which is currently 122 percent of the federal poverty level, would be eligible to receive:

* Medicaid if he lives in a state that expands Medicaid to include coverage for individuals and families earning up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level. A provision of the Affordable Care Act funds the Medicaid expansion, at the state’s discretion.

* A significant federal subsidy to help pay for private insurance, if he doesn’t live in a state that expands Medicaid. But he doesn’t have to buy insurance, because he is also eligible for a “hardship exemption” that would exempt him from any tax penalties.

What? Louie Gohmert lying again?...Imagine my surprise.... "We don' need no steenkin' facts..."

Well duh. Give people a choice between an unknown and the best health insurance tax money can buy and they don't want to change??? Are you even aware of how good federal employees have it?

And, as has been pointed out multiple times, they have their own Federal Employees Retirement Association, and have the option NOT to participate in the Social Security system if they choose.

"Surveys" point out that they'd rather keep what they've got?...Big whoop....

Yeah, you guys love to quote it when it serves your purpose, don't you?... :rofllol :bash

Yeah, Louis... "We don' need no steenkin' facts..."

Of course, the final test would be actually TEST THE FACTS of what brain-dead Louie is saying against the actual FACTS of the program, wouldn't it?

Let me know how that works out for ya... :rofllol

Deflect much? Who, other than you, is talking about Social Security? All the comments thus far have been directed towards the current and federal employee health benefits. Did someone go and alter Social Security to cover health benefits for federal employees without anyone noticing? If so, I'd like to see you provide evidence of same.

But, since you are bringing Social Security into it, why don't private workers have that same option? To direct all of the money withheld from their paychecks and that is matched by their employers into a private pension program and forgo participation in Social Security entirely? Seems to me the average citizen ought to have the same rights, privileges and immunities that the employees their tax dollars support do, wouldn't you agree?

Oh wait, that would cause the Ponzi to collapse, wouldn't it. A Ponzi constantly requires new "investors" to pay the returns to earlier "investors" or the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, just like Social Security would if you removed the requirement that current workers stop paying the benefits of those that are currently retired and allowed them to use that money to save for their own retirement years.

"You guys"? Who are your lumping me with? More sweeping generalities here with no facts.

Yes, I quote from factcheck.org. It's nice to have an unbiased source like them. And in this case regarding Obamacare, they are accurate as usual.

You are the one who quotes them to serve your own political purpose as in this post, but totally dismiss them when they show you wrong as I just pointed out. I've never knocked factcheck.org (nor snopes, nor politifact), and you can look all you want. They are too valuable a resource to not only prove you wrong, but also show your selective hypocrisy.
