Low information voters don't know what the word partisan means... they vote based on looks and tv ads that offer the most promises.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

What's really telling, to me at least, was that his support this time around was actually less than it was the first time despite his stance on immigration reform "evolving". Clearly a shift in thinking regarding immigration was of no help, or hindrance, in his reelection.

He doesn't have to pander, he holds many of the same views as they do. His opposition to public sector unions and his willingness to stand on principle even when it is less than popular are core principles of the TEA Party members. Unlike the Union's current executive, Christie has shown an ability to work with both sides of the aisle and lead to reach a consensus which is acceptable to both sides. It really is too bad he decided not to run in 2012, he likely would have beaten Obama if he had.
