How we got Obamacare to work

How we got Obamacare to work
By: Jay Inslee, Gov. of WA; Steve Beshear, Gov of KY; Dannel P. Malloy, Gov of Connecticut.

In our states, elected leaders have decided to put people, not politics, first.

Thanks to health-care reform and the robust exchanges in our states, people are getting better coverage at a better price.

One such person is Brad Camp, a small-business owner in Kingston, Wash., who received a cancellation notice in September from his insurance carrier. He went to the state exchange, the Washington Healthplanfinder, and for close to the same premium his family was paying before got upfront coverage for doctor’s office visits and prescription drug , vision and dental coverage. His family was able to keep the same insurance carrier and doctors and qualified for tax credits to help cover the cost.

Since Howard Stovall opened his sign and graphics business in Lexington, Ky., in 1998, he has paid half the cost of health insurance for his eight employees. With the help of Stovall’s longtime insurance agent and Kentucky’s health exchange, Kynect, Stovall’s employees are saving 5 percent to 40 percent each on new health insurance plans with better benefits. Stovall can afford to provide additional employee benefits, including full disability coverage and part of the cost of vision and dental plans, while still saving the business 50 percent compared with the old plans.

In Connecticut, Anne Masterson was able to reduce her monthly premiums from $965 to $313 for similar coverage, including a $145 tax credit. Masterson is able to use her annual premium savings of $8,000 to pay bills or save for retirement.

These sorts of stories could be happening in every state if politicians would quit rooting for failure and directly undermining implementation of the Affordable Care Act — and, instead, put their constituents first. Health reform is working for the people of Washington, Kentucky and Connecticut because elected leaders on both sides of the aisle came together to do what is right for their residents.

We urge Congress to get out of the way and to support efforts to make health-care reform work for everyone. We urge our fellow governors, most especially those in states that refused to expand Medicaid, to make health-care reform work for their people too.

Wow... These folks made it work... Hmmmm... Maybe if they didn't have a mission to root for the failure of it, others would figure out that it's better to elect leaders who will put people , not politics, first. (A totally foreign concept to the TeaHadists and knuckle-draggers, I know...But valid nonetheless.)

The TeaHadists and knuckle-draggers didn't put this bill into law. And now you want them to fix this for ya. Forget it. Case closed.

And thanks to the brilliant minds behind the Colorado Connect ads...more money circling the drain.

DISCONNECT: Connect for Health Adds $4 Million to Campaign

Connect for Health Colorado must be in full panic mode after the avalanche of bad news coming from the national Obamacare campaign, the botched ProgressNow ads, and the abysmal state exchange enrollment numbers. So, after the marketing team has blown through $21 million on ads to entice just 3,400 enrollees, Connect for Health has committed to another $4.2 million in taxpayer funds for ads to boost enrollment, according to a tweet from Fox31′s Eli Stokols:

http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2013/11 ... -campaign/

This confirms that the majority of Americans DID NOT want this. It was crammed down our throats thanks to liberals who think they know what's best for the rest of us!! No amount of ad money thrown at this tragedy will ever change the minds of those lived in fear of what was to come and are now living out the nightmare!!! Arrrggghhh!!

Give it up LJ. Why beat a dead horse???

Yeah, health reform is great if you qualify for subsidies which the people in the OP seemed to get. Or if you get it near free with Medicaid.

For the rest of the "rich" people, like couples making over $62K, you'll probably pay through the nose, if you can log in and find a plan.

I just happened to visit my doctor today for the first time in a long time. While waiting for 20 minutes, a lady came in with her boyfriend. She was late 30 something. I heard her say she didn't have her Medicaid card, and it's very hard to get another one from Medicaid even though she's been on Medicaid for 18 years. Even so, she was charged $2 and got in well before I did, and I have insurance which I pay for. Then again, I was seeing the doctor, maybe she was seeing a nurse or PA?

And I object to Obama calling it better insurance. The deductibles and max out of pocket expenses are much higher than I've had in the past with individual insurance. Plus I see instead of charging fixed prices for prescriptions (like $15, $30, $40 depending on tier), they charge something like 30%, 40% copays instead which will cost far more for more expensive drugs.

Not to mention that I read the preferred physician lists with Obamacare have been greatly reduced, not that I've confirmed it. Just try confirming it at the health exchange sites. It's very hard to do, if it can even be done.

Old and angry... like Reid, Pelosi, Fienstein, Sharpton, Levin, Mikulski, Rockerfeller, Harkin, Leahy... yourself? Speaking of old... your material is getting older by the minute. You have nothing.

Side note. The Quinnipiac University Poll called me last night, minutes after I got home from Europe. I've NEVER been selected randomly for a poll.

Listening to the questions about state and national political issues, it sounded to me like the Dems are worried since the majority of the questions dealt with Democrat politicians and issues.

There must have been 30-40 questions.

Time for the fire drill.
