I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

What can you say? Never ending government support. Free housing, cell phones, big screen tvs, visiting with your friends, smoking weed, all with no resonsibilities or expectations.

Why should she change? There is no motivation, no responsibility on her part. I appreciate the woman's honesty.

Isn't it comforing to know that we pay for everything she has and she's raising another generation to do the same?

Anyone else think this was a troll call? I am betting people think this way but they don't call radio stations and admit to it.

Everyone SHOULD, but we know that those who really need to, won't. They will tell you this is just an isolated anecdotal case and that most people want to work. That may be true if welfare recipients could get $15 an hour for flipping a burger or any other job that requires little skill or training. But if we FORCE a minimum wage to a 'living wage", we also know that the unemployment rate will go up and prices for everything will as well.

If it's constitutional for the government to force us alll to buy a product for the "greater good", doesn't it make sense to force welfare recipients (who are physically able), to work for what they recieve? Or, would that be too disruptive to their weed smoking schedule? There must be a milllion different government jobs that could be taken over by welfare recipients... even if they just work on a phone or the internet (which could be supplied by the gov't as part of the deal). Why shouldn't these people have to contribute something as another government mandate?

The big bonus would be that these people could learn new skills that would get them back into the productive sector or the economy instead of just being a tax on productive people.

No, Fred, I don't think this is a troll call. (except that when I read the thread title I expected it to have been started by our no-longer-resident troll)

The caller made a point that may have been missed -- she is contacted by the social workers or whomever offering her more and more benefits. This truly happens. When I was working with a refugee population they couldn't believe all the "free" stuff they were constantly offered by various agencies. The dad of the family we sponsored asked why they would do this when he and his wife were able to work and support their family. Fortunately he had the strength of character to see and avoid this pitfall to his success in this country.

Why not? What's the risk for her?

They see illegal aliens openly admit their abuse of our laws without consequence, so why should they try and hide their light under a bush?

If there's one leach like this "dude" willing to fess up to his worthless way of life, you can be sure there are millions of others workin it on the down low.

Wow... One person... Almost as impressive as Reagan's "Welfare Queen in a Cadillac", (which was non-existent.)

So, you hang your whole argument on finding one guy...

I suggest we use the ONE Florida GOTP Congressman that just got caught using cocaine as another good example...And make EVERY TeaBagger in Congress take a pee-in-the-cup test.
