President Obama made a big deal of talking about
Sgt First Class Cory Remsburg.

Let me be clear - I admire his service, sacrifice, and determination to recover. It deserves recognition
and gratuity from the entire country (as would be the case for any military vet).

HOWEVER ----

Why the heck didn't Sgt Remsburg salute the President (Commander in Chief)?

I'm not an authority on military protocol ---- but thumbs up?????

Seems more indulgent than obedient.

(No, I'm not a real fan of the President - but he IS the President).

Navy does not salute inside or when not covered . Air Force does. Army, don't know.

Must get confusing at the Pentagon. :banghead:

Every month I sit in on a conference call with the Colorado Department of Labor. Every month I get all the employment/unemployment figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the State of Colorado and Park County.

I get emails from various data mining sources on employment/unemployment facts and factoids. I personally speak to various Chamber of Commerce people, businesses and sometimes the general public.

I see enough job information each month to understand how various branches of the government, media and bloggers can spin the figures. I didn't realize how clever these folks can be when they are filtering these figures through a political ideology.

I know now.

Every three months I get similar data sets for new building permits, property and home sales, foreclosures and reports from numerous realty data, both local, state and national.

I see enough realty data each month to understand how various branches of the government, media and bloggers can spin the figures. I didn't realize how clever these folks can be when they are filtering these figures through a political ideology.

I know now.

And I take this data and spit out about 3000 words worth of articles. It's very enlightening what I've learned. Guess what? You are not getting the rest of the story. If you had the opportunity to go over the material that I go over, month after month, you would know that things are not as near rosy as they want you to believe.

There is a weak recovery going on. But it's not due to anything that Congress, the Republicans or the Democrats and the White House is responsible for.

Waiting for Armageddon since 33 AD

When MOST, if not all, the financial sites (who by the way predicted the 2007 recession) are
indicating that this recovery is fragile and NOT as healthy as the MSM wants you to believe.....
then you KNOW you are being lied to....JMO

Even Chris Matthews of MSNBC was impressed with the State of the Union address. He said, "You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour." Chris Matthews thought that Obama was so good with the speech that he thought that Obama was white!

What a racist! It was a racist statement either way you take it.

Decided not to watch what I recorded. Couldn't stand to watch him turn his head and blink a lot when he was going to tell another whopper. Read it instead. As expected everything is much better because of him. Wonder what kind of trash he will be speeling in 2014 as everything goes haywire and the middle class finally get the message that they have been had.
