Good point PS, once again Obama is shocked, shocked to discover that the VA isn't working, after he was told more than once since being elected. Obama, the Sgt. Schulz of our generation. "I see nothing, I know nothing, until I read the newspaper."

And once again the teabaggers could have done something about it, but decided to do their normal knuckle-dragging obstruction routine. It's sooo much easier to "just say no" and then look for someone else to blame.

Who held power in 2009 again? Seems to me that it wasn't the Republicans, but I'm sure that history will attempt to be rewritten as well such that the minority party was the one wielding all the power.

Blaming the opponents doesn't work Jazzer, especially when it is outside of their control. You see, the Veterans Administration is part of the executive branch, not the legislative one. How the appropriated funds are spent is a function of the current administration and it appears that they decided to spend the money compiling two lists instead of making sure that the veterans didn't have to wait more than 14 days for an appointment in compliance with federal law. That must be what the 57 heads of the VA offices came up with as the best solution after being tasked by Obama to get a handle on the wait times that his transition team was briefed about before he was inaugurated as our 44th President.

This is not a new problem. The veterans of every war, from the Revolutionary one to the present day, have been maltreated by the federal government. It is obviously a problem that the federal government has never, in over 230 years, managed to figure out a way to solve. Since placing responsibility for their care in federal hands has proven to be a failure for over 2 centuries now, isn't it about time we tried a different approach?

And this is the same level of government some wish to place in control of everyone's care? That's more than ridiculous, it's an insane proposal . . .

Sorry, this is all on Obama, he promised to fix things and ignored them instead. He admits he didn't know vets were dying and the VA was being horribly mis-managed amid rampant fraud.

1) He is the executive branch of the govenment.
2) He appointed the head of the VA.
3) Vets are dying on his watch.
4) He authorized studies and knew the problems and did nothing.

1) So was Bush, so was Clinton...So?
2) So have all the presidents....So?
3) So have vets been dying on ALL of the watches for the last 30 years... (I love it when you use the phrase "on his watch"-- So you are admitting that Bush was to blame for the World Trade Center bombing on 9/11/2001 because it "happened on his watch"--Thanks... Glad we finally got THAT out of the way.
4) He authorized studies and the studies did NOT show the hidden "secret lists" that were being used to fudge the numbers, and the problems were being deliberately hidden... And now it's been uncovered, and something IS being done about it.

I guess that means that the Idiot-Son authorized "studies of Iraq" (by ignoring all of the data, including the report of Joe Wilson), and did nothing about the non-existent WMD's? And started TWO unnecessary and unpaid-for wars because of it.

The Idiot-Son ignored all the intel during the summer of 2001, and knew the problems but did nothing--which caused the bombing of the World Trade Center.

And Reagan ignored intel and the Beirut bombing that killed 241 Marines is his fault because it "happened on his watch"...

Man, I'm glad we had this little chat. It's soooo much easier when you admit that because it happened on Bush/Reagan's watch, we know who to blame....

I guess when you can't defend the current holder of the office, you can just dust off the anti-Bush rant.
So you can blame "W" for 9/11 after he had been in office for less than a year, but Obama isn't responsible for five years of a failed VA? Liberal pretzel logic displayed.
Going to blame FDR for Pearl Harbor too?

Nope..Sorry...We've already determined that "happened on his watch" is the standard...

Have a day....
