"David Brat’s far-right, out-of-the-mainstream leanings are coming out as we learn more.
Among those celebrating Brat’s surprise win is William Gheen, head of the anti-immigrant hate group ALIPAC , who used some of his group’s meager funds to send out a robocall in the district in the days before the election, playing up the fear that undocumented immigrants would “vote with or against you in future elections.”
While the robocall was an independent endeavor, Brat had actively sought ALIPAC’s endorsement.
Here is are some of the things Gheen stands for:
Warns of violent revolution if the Tea Party can’t stop the immigrant “invasion.”
Says violence may be needed to stop Obama’s war on “white America.”
Wants President Obama arrested for his immigration policies, possibly through a military coup .
Calls immigration “national rape” that takes the power away from “traditional Americans.”...
Looks like Cantor's majority leader position will be taken by the current House majority whip, Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California, who is left of Cantor.
“McCarthy voted for a Hurricane Sandy relief bill that included spending that was unrelated to providing emergency aid, fought for the farm and food stamp bill, fought reforms to the federal sugar program, and backed an extension of the corporate welfare agency known as the Export-Import Bank. In January, he also supported a path to legal status for immigrants who entered this country illegally.”
I don't think the Tea Party thought this one through.... they also got a freshman congressman in exchange for one of the top-ranking Republican's in the House.
Just announced, Idaho Mormon, son of Cuban refugees, Raul Labrador, will also compete for majority leader. He is more of a TEA Party type fiscal conservative.
It is expected Obama will eat up Labrador. (Small joke there.)

It is an uphill battle. Both parties hate and fear the TP. It reminds me of Perot in '92.

The breakdown I heard was of the voters for Perot, 2/3's were Republican, 1/3 were Dem or independent. Both Archer & I supported Ross. Probably the only time we voted for the same presidential candidate.
It was enough to give Colorado to Bill Clinton.

What this election does is debunk the myth that elections can be bought, or that the voice of the people is reduced, by restricting the right to free speech in the political arena by placing limits on independent campaign expenditures by groups who wish to express their opinions on upcoming elections.
That's the real story here - and the one that the leftists don't want you connecting the dots on. This election proves that The People, or at least the ones who align themselves with the Republican party anyway, don't decide who to vote for based on how many advertisements are bought in the local media. That might be true of Democrats in general, but this election shows it isn't applicable to those registered with the Republican Party.
