What lessons haven’t we learned since 2016?

From my perspective...Instagram,Twitter,Snapchat,Facebook and the remaining soc.media sites are the culprit...LONG BEFORE the king came to reign...those chosen venues were toxic
and only encouraged rage and ranting because there was NO barrier to block the bullshit....I
can only understand it because of the backlash that is constantly up front and center...the "likes"
and the "ghosting" Blocking and how those actions effect the physic.....the"self"is being slaughtered and those individuals who do not have strong sense of self(NOT egocentric)are
lost souls.....a TOXIC tonic of entertainment.

The rage comes from both sides. Political parties feed on it. They want angry followers. And the media feeds it daily. You can think this is only social media, but it is fed by the mainstream media itself. Example, the way CNN crafted the story slandering the Covington children who were just sitting there waiting for a bus. With the right camera angles and editing, you didn't see the protestors cross the street and get into their faces. And both sides do it, like the War on Christmas. They will take the words of just a few and make it look like a large scale movement to take away freedoms or fundamentally change the nation.
There are a couple nice old ladies I visit who will call me in tears after they see something on TV news and I will have to talk them off the precipice. I am tempted to go to their house and put parental controls on their TV, blocking out the "new". Just let them watch Hallmark Channel and Animal Planet.
