Just like the impeachment. Why would Republican senators piss off their base by voting to remove President Trump from office? Especially when he has only ten days left? If Republican senators and House members vote to remove Trump from office, there will be immediate efforts funded to replace them in upcoming primaries.
Because it's the right thing to do.
Because removing a mentally and emotionally unstable President is in the best interests of the country and the world.
Because inciting an insurrection against democracy and attempting to overturn a fair election is a crime and needs to be punished so it doesn't happen again.

Fiona writes herself in circles trying to justify calling it a coup. It wasn't a coup. It was a peaceful demonstration that got out of hand.
There was no chance that the results of the election were going to be thrown out.
There was no way Buffalo Boy with one hundred portly backers was going to fight off the National Guard and the protesters did leave peacefully after a few hours and a few selfies.
