I didn't get that impression. Trump likes to butter up people to get his way. This is what he was doing to Putin and other autocrats. Tends to work better than calling them a-holes and ripping them for oppressing their people.

You always criticize the tactics then ignore the good results. The only people who were used by Putin were the Democrats who chased a fake Russian conspiracy for 4 years.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
