You really should start looking at statistics instead of just listening to the leftist echo chamber. So called "assalt" weapons are NOT the reason why our big cities are being overrun by crime and murder. Our cities are being overrun because of the errosion of our police depafrtments and that is 100% the fault of leftists.

Democrats could pass 100 new gun laws and it wouldn't make a difference to criminals. The only thing that will deter a criminal is punishment and the risk of being killed. Those who are not deterred need to be put into the ground as a warning to other criminals. That's how reality works.

NO, our police problem is SCREENING and teaching....when u have a Commander of a police force saying
he did not think it was his responsibility (recent mass shooting) and left his team high and dry,THAT is derelict. When u have TWO police standing at the shore watching a HUMAN DROWN AND ASKING FOR HELP and they did nothing,but let the human drown,when u have a "I AM THE MAN, lean on a man's neck

You're doing what the left always does when it comes to police, you use anecdotal events to paint a picture of the whole. When you demonize good police, you get more good police retiring and fewer people wanting to become officers. It's not the fault of police that criminals are multiplying exponentially these days... it's a combination of bad economic policies (causing people to be desperate), a lack of law enforcement, and really bad DA's that refuse to prosecute.

There will always be cops that don't do a good job but that's no different than every other occupation you can think of. Better training won't fix our current problems if the criminals don't fear prosecution or a bullet.

Increasing requirements for police officers will make it even harder to find candidates. Do you really think the understrength Park County Sheriff's Department candidates need more screening and training?
