Missile crisis.
Why do we keep on poking the Russian bear?
Let Putin try to occupy Ukraine. Stop supporting the corrupt Ukrainian government.

I was a teenager during the Cuban missile crisis and only knew what the MSM fed to to people. What is different from Russia not wanting NATO on its borders vs the U.S. not wanting the Russians in Cuba?

HERE'S A HINT (more complex than u remember)

PUTIN WILL NOT BACK DOWN......because his MISSION is to restore Russia to it's past royal status *(his ego was extremely bruised from NOT BEING AWARE of his lack of military command.) he has much to prove and a sane approach will not prevail..JMO

Another point of view.

news.usni.org/2012/10/24/soviet-perspect...kita-khrushchevs-son

Below is a teaser:
"The Soviet Union reacted very differently. For Americans it was a unique crisis, because it was the first time in all their history they realized they could be killed. For the Soviet people they had their war experience. For them it was no different. There was no panic in the Moscow streets and life went on as usual. They experienced threats many time in history starting with the Mongolian invasion."

I don't think that the Russian people have changed their perspective.

What should people remember about the Cuban Missile Crisis moving forward in the 21st century?

We have to negotiate with our adversaries and enemies. If you negotiate with them, you can impose your influence on them. You will be able to explain to them and understand their position and sooner or later find some peaceful resolution. Imposing sanctions and unconditional surrenders it is not really a productive way to negotiate. You negotiate with your enemies, not with your friends. I think it is a good lesson with our current confrontation with Iran or China or any other country.

DISCUSSION AND FINDING MUTUAL SOLUTIONS IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER. i do NOT believe that the nonchalant attitude that was described (about war) WAS REALISTIC....boots on the ground is far different than WARFARE WITH WEAPONS THAT CAN ANNIHILATE MANKIND. i absolute AGREE THAT America was living in a fantasy land about security and their way of life....A VEIL WAS LIFTED ON 9/11 I have stated that many times over the past two decades.

Exactly, that’s why Trump used a different strategy with Kim. Don’t poke him to the point where he feels the need to show his strength, give him reasons to be part of the global community. Biden is bringing us closer to nuclear war than any president in my life.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

"Biden is bringing us closer to nuclear war than any president in my life."

Why "us". This is an issue between Ukraine and Russia, or it should be. The U.S. and its puppy NATO
have exacerbated this possibility by funding and arming this proxy war. It will not end well.

Would the US get upset if Russia gave arms and ammunition to Mexico so they could reclaim Texas?

I think the whole world should just stay out of it.

Of course we would be pissed and feel threatened. Just watch, if we don’t end up in a war the Democrats will want us to rebuild Ukraine, because our people don’t need anything.

"
What a load of crap....the "bromance" was embarrassing,he was fawning all over Kim because he put him on a pedestal and worshiped his strong armed stance. THE TWO were not equal....Kim was amused and
went along, smiling all the way to "just how stupid do u think I am"?
