The impeachment was initiated by Republican House members who were upset with his protection of the US-Mexican border.

What were the "high crimes and misdemeanors" that warranted his impeachment?

www.npr.org/2024/02/06/1229642634/house-...urity-secretary-mayo

Rep. Tom McClintock, one of the Republicans who voted against impeaching, said on the House Floor Tuesday that "Sec. Mayorkas is guilty of maladministration of our immigration laws on a cosmic scale. But we know that's not grounds for impeachment because the American founders specifically rejected it."

"They didn't want political disputes to become impeachments because that would shatter their separation of powers that vests the enforcement of the laws with the president — no matter how bad a job he does," said McClintock, R-Calif.

So, it's obviously an attempt to embarrass President Biden and keep the immigration issue in front of the public.

Or it’s just a horrible bill. Now Schumer is separating the aid to the wars we are funding as its own bill. Wow, I wonder why they didn’t just start there instead of calling it a border bill? We all know why.

Please explain how Mike Johnson got railroaded. He is the Speaker of the House of Representatives and does not vote in the Senate.

Yesterday, Tuesday February 6, 2024, Johnson brought to the floor two votes. One was for impaechment of Mayorkas. The other was a bill to provide aid to Israel.

Some Republicans aren’t happy with House leadership after the lower chamber failed to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and failed to pass a clean $17.6 billion Israel aid bill all in one day.

I define railroaded to mean forced or pressured to do something against your will. If you use a different definition please post it.
Speaker Johnson was not forced, pressured or coerced into doing something. He supported the impeachment vote of Mayorkas and also the stand alone Israeli aid bill.
In the former 3 republicans, one has already announced his retirement (Buck) and the 2 others were McClintock and Gallagher. Moore switched his vote to no so as top put a procedural mechanism in place to bring up the motion again at a later time. Ken Buck is the consummate politician evidenced by his dropping out of the Senate race in order to allow Cory Gardner an open path to the nomination and Buck took Cory's seat in the House. Watch for him on CNN or MSNBC until they of him and he is tossed into the trash as was Liz Cheney.McClintock and Gallagher I am not familiar .
As to the Israel gift I stand with the dozen or so Republicans who voted against the measure as did 166 democrats. It should be noted that this bill required a 2/3 majority, the democrats were the prime movers in scuttling it.
I fail to see how this constitutes "railroading". Perhaps you can explain it to me.

It. Is. A. Joke.

Let me explain the back story to the joke - Johnson brought two fairly critical votes to the floor. Both were defeated. Doesn't matter how, or who you blame. Johnson should have known how the votes would be cast. He should have had his whip, and other GOP members, out thrashing the bushes for votes and should have known beforehand what the tallies would be. That is what most Speakers of the House do, so it's a little surprising to see such a mistake, especially twice in one day.

To have lost both votes shows that he is not in control of his own party. It's a major embarrassment for the GOP - it's in all the papers, geez. Even the talking heads at FOX are shaking their heads in disbelief over such a gaffe.

Here's the punch line to the joke - Johnson and his son have installed apps on both their phones that allows them each to see the browser history on the others phone. I guess it's to prevent each other from watching porn.

Let me know if you can't connect the dots.

Mayorkas was impeached in a second vote, 2/13/24.

The Senate will refuse to vote him guilty.
