Does Trump understadn how tariffs work?

I have a degree in Business with a double major in Finance and Economics. I can read between the lines on the stories I am receiving from around the world while you keep trusting a small sample size of the press.
A press that is very liberal and trying to get you to vote for a woman who has done nothing as VP to prepare her to be President.

So Biden appointed her to go down and meet with Latin American leaders in order to stop the record amount of illegals sneaking across. She was unsuccessful. In fact, Team Biden was flying in illegals from not only Venezuela but also Haiti.

You want proof? Yet, you refuse to read any press that isn't super liberal that is actively trying to protect this administration.

Example: The Denver Mayor says illegals are not a problem. Please drive down to Denver since you don't trust Fox News. Count the tent cities. Get your car windows washed by Venezuelan aliens and former prisoners and gang members.
The Denver Mayor supports a new sales tax to house these illegal immigrants who are protected by sanctuary city status.

None are so blind as those who can't see that Colorado is being overwhelmed by Democrat policies.

Enjoy that new sales tax created for illegal invaders.

You got those degrees and you still don't understand how tariffs work?

Weird.

I understand how tariffs work and I disagree with them for the most part. Sometimes you do need to use them to punish those nations that are dumping their goods to harm our businesses.

And early in the Industrial Revolution, America was funded by tariffs on foreign goods. These tariffs protected our infant manufacturing, creating jobs for American workers. Sure, it did screw over American consumers who had to pay more for European manufactured goods.

And now K., you know more about tariffs than the idiot reporter who told you very simplisticly that "tariffs are bad

Life isn't good/bad. Life is much more complex, especially international economics.

But if you want to keep reading your dumbed down opinion pieces masquerading as facts, go ahead!

No, the article questioned whether Trump understands how tariffs work.

"Trump has falsely, and repeatedly, claimed that China — not US importers — pay the tariff."

And the Chinese can wind up paying those tariffs. Your simplistic reporter is an idiot.
If China lowers their prices to pay those tariffs, Americans aren't paying the tariffs.

Hoe can you not understand this?

If they lower the value of the Yuan to lower the prices of their products, Chinese consumers have to pay more for imports.

International trade is much more complex than "Orange Man is stupid".

Price controls don't work.
People think these grocers and food companies are making 25% profits when it is closer to 5%.

Venezuela tried price controls on food. They failed. They told manufacturers and grocers that they weren't allowed to raise prices. The distributors ran the numbers and because of the massive inflation, they couldn't make food at the new costs. So they went out of business. Venezuelans starved. And fled socialism for American capitalism.

Restricting food imports while deporting migrant farm workers will certainly drive food prices down. Right? Right?

Trump's policy on this is stupid.
Hopefully his staff talks some sense into him.

When has Trump ever listened to anyone other than the guy in the mirror?
