Like Musk, I don't support across the board tariffs with our trading partners. There are some products other nations can produce more cheaply, like coffee and sugar cane. But China constantly cheats with slave labor and dumping products in the US market that our manufacturers can't compete with.
We need to keep tariffs as a weapon to punish nations like China.

Only tariffs for China? Why? Why should we allow every other country to put massive tariffs on our products? Trump is going to get better trade deals across the board and I think he's better at this kind of deal making than Musk or anyone in Washington.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
The Left is acting like the US never used tariffs before. President Obama used them to protect American tire companies from Chinese dumping.
President Biden used them to protect domestic steel workers.
And Biden also banned cheaper Chinese vehicles from being imported.
