So you are saying we should ignore the shipments of cocaine from Venezuela and other Latin American countries since it isn't as much of a problem?

:happysnow: :snowfalling

We could even legalize it like we did Marijuana.

Not too difficult to understand really . . . for a true independent thinker that is.

Since you're a fan of Wikipedia, here's what they have to say on the subject . . . recognize any of the cartels that Venezuela is working with?

Since 2012, the United States government has stated that "generally permissive security forces and a corrupt political environment have made Venezuela one of the preferred routes of cocaine trafficking from South America", noting that drug trafficking organizations ranging from Mexican cartels, such as El Tren de Aragua, Los Zetas, Ángeles Caído and the Sinaloa Cartel, to armed far-right Colombian organizations and the FARC and ELN, have operated from Venezuela. According to the United States, "elements of the Venezuelan security forces have assisted these drug trafficking organizations".[8]

Now, add in cancellation of free and fair elections in lieu of a dictatorship under Maduro, and you really do have a narco-terrorist state engaged in activities to harm people in this Union who are under the protection of a federal government charged with ensuring the general welfare of the Union. Then there are the 23,000 or so US citizens that call Venezuela home that are at risk by such a dictator with animosity towards the US to consider.

All in all, a true independent thinker would understand why this course is being pursued . . .

Have to find a middle ground. Venezuela is a failed state, beholden to cartels. Unfortunately it looks like Mexico is going that way too.

There's that Trump fixation again . . . how many others fail to recognize Maduro as the legitimate leader in Venezuela HA? Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, the EU, Australia, Germany, the UK, Norway, Sweden . . . none of them recognize the legitimacy of the last Venezuelan election, do they. It's not just Trump, it's the majority of the civilized world.

Interestingly enough, places like China, Russia, and Cuba are happy with a dictator seizing power, but most of the world isn't. Trump just has additional reasons to take action against a narco-terrorist state given the harm it is doing to the people of this Union that, say, Australia, really doesn't have a stake in.

Maduro lost his election according to international democracy advocates. Why are you supporting an illegal dictatorship?

President Trump's election was certified.

HA does not have the ability to be objective when it comes to anything Trump does or says. She’s not alone… hopefully she doesn’t travel down the Rosie O path and let the illness destroy her life.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Maybe Maduro's generals can be bought off, like the Taliban when we first occupied Afghanistan.
