In Colorado - the local republicans are as guilty of supporting big government as the democrats. They are both equally responsible for government growing 300% in less than 10 years. If personally - you don't use 300% more state government services than you did 10 years ago - 66% of the Colorado state government budget can be cut without any affect to you or your family.

Lets face it - even if these 3 ballot issues were to pass - it would not come anywhere close to cutting the budget 66%. If we can cut just a fraction of that amount with these ballot issues - we will do ourselves a big favor - a favor that niether Republicans or Democrats will do for us. The amendments would phase in gradually - over the next 5 or 6 years. If they pass - we can look forward to a little relief each year, and more money in the hands of those taxpayers who earned it, to pay bills, to save, to spend or invest.

All local politicians know that more government means more power in their hands. Unfortunately, we have a recession on our hands and many citizens can not afford the bills to pay for this overbloated budget. Colorado government wants to keep growing at a record clip - like nothing has changed in our economy or in our personal lives. It's up to the voters - because our politicians won't help us - we need to help ourselves.

Don't believe the lies about these 3 ballot issues, they will help a little - and with almost no affect on 95% of us. The 5% who will be affected are those who depend on government contracts for their business.

Nothing in those ballot issues will keep the government from growing if the voters "approve" the growth. If we really need more government spending - we can change our mind and approve more spending.

What Colorado needs now is for government to shrink for a few years in order to reflect the reality of the real world conditions that each of us are living with every day. Our wallets are shrinking, our jobs are going away, our houses are worth less and government want to keep doing what it has always done - grow.

I will be supporting all 3 of these ballot issues.
