The drafters of the amendment should not singled out Sharia Law and just stuck to international law. The drafters of this should have known better.

And your point is............?

That is well settled that the government can not place burden on a single religion. It is permissible to state that the courts could use only civil law, that they can not consider any religious based law, but under the 1st Amendment, it is impermissible to single out one religion to place a burden upon.

There have been religious exemptions before concerning Christian religions and law. One good example, when the rest of the country was under prohibition, Catholics were still allowed to use alcoholic wine in their ceremonies, some American Indians are allowed to use illegal drugs in their ceremonies. Shouldn't Islam get some special rights too?

However, the Executive branch has singled out specific religious groups for persecution, remember those scary white separatist Christians?

Perhaps you could enlighten us on the laws that were enacted that have singled out Christians for persecution?

How easily some forget how our Federal Government killed American citizens due to a misinterpretation of the NFA. Read up on Ruby Ridge St. DS.

International law is also known as the law of nations. It deals with the conduct of international organizations and independent nations, such as countries, states and tribes. It deals with their relationship with each other. It also deals with some of their relationships with persons.

The law of nations is formed by the general assent of civilized nations. Sources of international law also include international agreements, as well as treaties.

Sharia Law is Islamic law. It is based on two principal sources, the Koran and the teaching of Mohammed. "

I'm confused....do you support or oppose the OK law? Why is it not ok for voters in a state to make sure an activist judge doesn't decide to ignore US law "because the defendant is Islamic", and lives under different laws?

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

If I were litigating, I would not frame it as a religion issue (1st amendment) other than for a tactic of distraction. The stronger case can be made for equal protection under the law. Once a specific group is singled out in legislation (unless it is framed to uphold rights - like affirmative action), then that law will most likely be found unconstitutional.

I support the Constitution of the United States. The 1st Amendment guarantees that the government is not able to single out and burden a particular religion. If the Oklahoma law has simple stated that the courts are not to be influenced by the rules of any and all religions, that would be ok.
