Obviously reading isn't a requirement now. This current Congress and President has been passing bills without reading them. So what's Bloomberg's issue?

Wow, talk about your revisionist history, and it hasn't yet been a year since the Democrats did the cramdown on health care reform with almost no one from the Republican Party voting in favor of the legislation. Congress and our president did in fact sell us out ckm8, but the Congress and the Oval Office are both controlled, for now and at the time, by Democrats. A filibuster proof majority of Democrats in the Senate, who to a person voted to pass health care reform with every single Republican voting against allowing the bill to proceed. I know that progressive like to rewrite history to suit their agenda ckm, but you have to at least wait to do that until the event fades from short term memory before you can even hope to do it successfully.
What planet are you on Printsmith? The Democrats do not have a filibuster proof majority and in fact the Republicans have filibustered a record number of bills. Get your facts straight. But once again, I'll point out that Nymysys is either lying or ignorant and you continue you avoid that issue trying to redirect to the health care bill that was anything but liberal as a public option or single payer was never even on the table- all as a compromise to the right. I love how you duck the point. You must rock at dodgeball..
I'm not only on planet earth, the sky is blue in my world - what color is it in yours?
The Democrats did have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate when the so called health care reform bill was passed by that cabal of bottom feeders led by Harry Reid. That majority wasn't lost until January of 2010 with the election of Scott to the vacancy that was created when Kennedy died. You might also remember the law that the Democrats in Massachusetts passed to once again allow the governor of the state to fill such a vacancy that allowed the Democrats to retain that filibuster proof majority during the time frame that they crammed the health care bill down the throats of the citizens of this nation. You might further remember that the Democrats voted to take that authority away from the governor when it was a Republican who was governor of that state before restoring the authority to the governor when it became apparent that Kennedy would be too ill to attend to his job in the Senate and be present to cast the vote necessary to block the filibuster of the Republicans.
You might also remember that the reason that the House passed the Senate version, after yet more bribery and corruption on top of that which occurred in the Senate, was that any changes the House made to the Senate version would have to once again pass through the Senate and Reid, Pelosi and Obama all knew that this couldn't occur before the election in Massachusetts was held and all indications were that the Democrats would fail to hold the seat after the election and their filibuster proof majority would be lost.
I remember that assault upon the liberty and freedom of the citizens of this nation like it was yesterday ckm8. It is seared into my consciousness. It is also one of the primary reasons that the citizens fired Pelosi and the Democrats took such a shellacking earlier this month.

How you twist and turn to try to avoid discussing Nymysys' blatant lie! I love how you righties stick together. You're right- if all the Dems had shown the same blind loyalty that the right has we would have actual health care reform (not the love letter to the insurance companies we ended up with) with a single payer or at the least a public option, the Volcker rule would be in place, we'd have extended the tax breaks to the bulk of Americans while ending those for the wealthy that have already benefited unduly, the cap on payroll taxes would have been lifted-- my, my the list goes on. Unfortunately Democrats tend to go their own way not slavishly conform to whatever is required of them by their overlords like all those on the right. So go on and keep trying to keep attention from the consistent lies tossed around here by your brethren. That is one of the few things you on the right do well. Knowing how many votes are needed to invoke cloture seems to evade you however.
The HOPE now is for abolishment of mandated health care in any form. If legislation were passed to reform problems within health insurance, on demand care at ERs for nonlife threatening issues and such, we might move forward without going bankrupt.
