The Leftist Government Art of Catching Wild Pigs

Wild pigs can be caught by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The Democrats/Leftists in this country keep pushing us toward Communism/Socialism…spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, and now Obamacare; while we continually lose our freedoms and our younger generations become increasingly dependent on the government; losing the knowledge of and even the incentive to take care of themselves.

In today’s “America”, three sides of the fence have been built around us. The recent mid-term elections were one small step toward ensuring the final side does not go up; and tearing down what has already been erected. There is still a lot of work to do.

The true pigs among us will continue to squeal and demand their handouts. They are already too far gone; completely bought into the “entitlement way”. Some will begin squealing here, no doubt.

It’s time that the rest of us begin stockpiling our kindling and preparing to silence the squeals for the good of our country. Squealing pig roast, anyone?

Or love this difference between wild animals & humans. We shouldn't feed the wildlife because they become dependent on it and lose the skills to survive for themselves in the wild, but it is OK to give generation after generation of people welfare benefits so that they never learn to develop themselves and learn how to survive on their own. Some aren't even smart enough to move out of the holes they live in like Detroit.

I wasn't sure where this fit in (seems it is relevant to several of the threads as a theme) so I thought I'd put it here and just face the music by the anal retentive if it's in the wrong place.

This guy may be all wet and is clearly painting liberals with a very broad brush...but it's an interesting take on the possible working of the liberal mind. Maybe they are just "wired" differently than someone more middle-of-the-road or conservative. They are wired to think this way and perceiving things through this filter will always impact what is percieved.

Must the Liberal Mind Reject Sad Facts?
By Dennis Prager , Jewish World Review

Recently I devoted my local column to analyzing why most Jews believe that people are basically good despite the fact that this belief is neither rational nor Jewish. In a lifetime of teaching and writing on Judaism, I have never encountered a single normative statement in 3,000 years of Jewish writing that asserted that man is basically good.

As I expected, the reaction — apparently all from Jewish liberals — was entirely negative. Almost an entire page of the journal was devoted to letters attacking me. One of the seven letters — from a prominent Hollywood screenwriter — bordered on hysteria.

The question is, why?

Why would liberals in general, and Jewish liberals in particular — given the Jews' singularly horrific history at the hands of other human beings — react so strongly against someone who wrote that people are not basically good?

In my original article, I offered one explanation: Since the Enlightenment, the secular world has had to believe in man (or "humanity") because if you don't believe in God and you don't believe in humanity, you will despair.

"A distinguishing characteristic of liberals and leftists," I concluded, "is their aversion to acknowledging sad facts."[/i]

First, as with my correspondent above, people on the left tend to be unwilling to accept the sadness and pain that recognition of such facts creates. leftism is often predicated on avoiding pain. That is a major reason why the left dislikes capitalism and free markets. Free markets create winners and losers, and the left does not like the fact that some people lose and some win.

It seems it all comes down to which set of "facts of life" you are working off of.
