I have just returned from there because I had to go out to Buena Vista as well. I attended the B,O,C,C, meeting and it was evident that the decision to go forward was made a long time ago, but they had to convince themselves that they could defend their position. We sat through speeches that seemed to be campaign speeches that they had memorized. John Tighe spoke as if we had said we didn't want the comm center, instead of the fact that we didn't want a new building built. There is an almost empty jail that could be made to accommodate it, as well as numerous empty buildings in Park County that could be used. It looks to me as John Tighe wants his legacy of a building built with his name on it.
BTW the meeting was actually postponed till next Wednesday because Kathy Boyce didn't have the loan documents done, yet the county did not announce that this issue would be postponed.
There were a number of people there that were all prepared to give speeches to praise the Commissioners on how diligent they have been in this regard. It was a stage show performed in three acts, but I'm not convinced at all that is justified.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson
I have seen this lot get shut down by a handful of citizens in the past over far less than this when the citizens threatened to file suit against them. How is it that no one has offered up the option to sue them?
