Yes, indeed. Let's face it. It is naive to think the world will slow its energy consumption. While the US has enjoyed it's benefits for more than 100 years, the rest of the world has not had that luxury. Now third world countries see a way of joining the upper class and NOTHING is going to stop them from doing so. Now we see the error of judgement though foreign exploitation of oil riches off our shores. If blowouts and lost wells result, we still suffer the consequences, that heaped on top of the lost revenue and hydrocarbon resources. Yep, the conservative perspective suddenly becomes clearer in light of this development while our country continues to go backwards.

There was something that could be done before our government took the position it has taken. Once again, you see that BIG BAD OIL does include many benefits to all of us. So who do we blame now?

Now that is a myopic perspective. So you think that technology simply evolves in a vacuum? Just like car technology evolves through experimentation and investment on the race track so does drilling technology evolve through experimentation and huge investments in frontier drilling areas.
