I'm praying that the next five weeks will go much smoother than these first two.
I just finished 8 months of chemo and two surgeries for cancer, the first few weeks are the worst and then it gets difficult near the end of treatment as your body is the weakest. My best medicine was the love of my friends and family and medical marijuana (made it possible to eat, sleep, and controlled nausia).
I don't know Spykster but my prayers going out to him. I would be happy to share my experience and ways of coping if he is looking for some new ideas on how to get through it easier. I am no longer afraid of cancer, it is my enemy and I will defeat it...... as I'm sure Spykster will as well.
Thanks for the updates, AL. pass on god wishes to him - this area would be less without a crumdeon like him. (And I know he knows I'm kidding.) All the best to Spykster - keep on fighting.
prayers for cb and spykster. don't know you but hope you can feel good enough to get online and let us know how things are.
bumper sticker - honk if you will pay my mortgage
"The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." attributed to Margaret Thatcher
"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson
I told Spykster about your experience CB, and he was glad to hear some encouraging news. He's been in the hospital since Christmas Eve. Hoping to be back home by the end of the week. His spirits are up, and he's a tough SOB.
I have an email address for him (this really is his email address, not just a joke):
If every day is an awaking,
you will never grow old.
You will just keep growing.

My last scan was clear other than a secondary kidney cancer which is 95% treatable (pull the kidney and baby the other for life )
I have some radiation left to do but my future looks good other than numb feet and fingers (from chemo)which may or may not recover....a small price to pay for living.
I would recommend that everyone who is nearing age 50 get a colonoscopy. Colon cancer is getting much more common especially among men 40+ and I'm 48. It starts with polyps that can be easily removed....they give no warning until they grow into a large tumor, then you have major problems. The colonoscopy is easy and you feel nothing since they knock you out.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, now you can focus on Spykster, he has a tough road ahead but I know he'll get through it like I did.
